Abstract: Molded bodies having a low content of alkali and alkali earth metal ions can be obtained when in one stage of the process a porous oxide material is mixed with a metal oxide sol and/or a metal oxide. A molded body comprising at least one oxide material and at least one metal oxide is prepared in 5 stages: (i) mixing of at least one metal oxide with at least one metal oxide sol having a low content of alkali and alkali earth metals and/or at least one metal oxide of low alkali and alkali earth metal content; (ii) compaction of the mass; (iii) forming of the mass; (iv) drying of the molded body; and (v) calcining of the dried molded body. Independent claims are included for: (1) A molded body obtained as above; (2) a metal oxide sol having a content of alkali and alkali earth metal ions less than 800 ppm, obtained by hydrolysis of at least one metal acid ester; (3) a process for preparation of at least one alkylene oxide involving the 3 stages: (A) reaction of at least one alkene with hydrogen peroxide in the presence of a molded body obtained as above as catalyst, which can act as catalysts for selective oxidation; (B) preparation of the alkene by dehydration of an alkane; (C) oxidation of the hydrogen produced in (II) to hydrogen peroxide, which is then used in stage (I).

M1 = Zn2+, Fe2+, Fe3+, Co3+, Ni2+, Mn2+, Co2+, Sn2+, Pb2+, Mo4+, Mo6+, Al3+, V4+, V5+, Sr2+, W4+, W6+, Cr2+, Cr3+, Cd2+, Hg2+, Pd2+, Pt2+, V2+, Mg2+, Ca2+, Ba2+, Cu2+, La3+, Ce3+, Ce4+, Eu3+, Ti3+, Ti4+, Ag+, Rh2+, Rh3+, Ru2+ or Ru3+; M2 = Fe2+, Fe3+, Co3+, Mn2+, Mn3+, V4+, V5+, Cr2+, Cr3+, Rh3+, Ru2+ or Ir3+; A, X = halide, hydroxide, sulfate, carbonate, cyanide, thiocyanate, isocyanate, cyanate, carboxylate, oxalate, nitrate, nitrosyl, bisulfate, phosphate, (di)hydrogen phosphate or bicarbonate; L = a water-soluble alcohol, aldehyde, ketone, ether, polyether, ester, polyester, polycarbonate, urea, amide, amine, pyridine, nitrile, sulfide, phosphide, phosphite, phosphine, phosphonate or phosphate ligand; k, e, f, h = 0 or more; P' = an organic additive; and a, b, c, d, g, n = numbers so that (I) is electrically neutral and c can be zero. An Independent claim is also included for an alkoxylate produced by the novel method.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method for oxidizing an organic compound containing at least one C-C double bond or a mixture of two or more thereof, comprising the following steps: (I) production of a hydroperoxide; (II) reaction of an organic compound containing at least one C-C double bond or a mixture of two or more thereof with the hydroperoxide produced in step (I) in the presence of a zeolitic catalyst; (III) regeneration of the at least partially deactivated zeolitic catalyst used in step (II) and (IV) reaction according to step (II) using a zeolitic catalyst which contains the regenerated catalyst from step (III).
