Abstract: Disclosed is a method for selectively hydrogenating a copolymer, including contacting a heterogeneous catalyst with a copolymer to process hydrogenation. The copolymer includes aromatic rings and double bonds, and the double bonds are hydrogenated, and the aromatic rings are substantially not hydrogenated. The heterogeneous catalyst includes a metal catalyst such as platinum, palladium, platinum-iridium alloy, or platinum-rhenium alloy formed on a porous support. The hydrogenation is processed at a temperature of 40° C. to 150° C. under a hydrogen pressure of 10 kg/cm2 to 50 kg/cm2.

Abstract: A process for preparing a selective hydrogenation catalyst is described, wherein is provided a catalyst precursor, comprising at least one group VIII metal in the metallic form, and at least one support formed of at least one oxide, characterized in that a step is performed of contacting the said catalyst precursor in the metallic form, in the liquid phase and in the presence of a reducing and/or inert atmosphere, with a non-polar solvent containing a silicon compound, the said silicon compound is selected from the silanes containing at least one Si—H bond and at least one Si—C bond, the silanols and the cyclic siloxanes.The selective hydrogenation process implementing the said catalyst is also described.

Abstract: A continuous process for the preparation of propylene oxide, comprising (i) providing a liquid feed stream comprising propene, hydrogen peroxide, acetonitrile, water, dissolved potassium dihydrogen phosphate, and optionally propane; (ii) passing the liquid feed stream provided in (i) into an epoxidation reactor comprising a catalyst comprising a titanium zeolite of structure type MWW, and subjecting the liquid feed stream to epoxidation reaction conditions; (iii) removing an effluent stream from the epoxidation reactor; wherein the concentration of the dissolved potassium dihydrogen phosphate in the liquid feed stream is at least 10% of the solubility limit of the potassium dihydrogen phosphate in the liquid feed stream.

Abstract: A process to make a Fischer-Tropsch catalyst with improved hydrothermal stability, comprising: a. contacting a crystalline oxide material with a solution of a tungsten and a phosphorus to make a tungsten-phosphorus modified support; b. calcining the tungsten-phosphorus modified support at a temperature less than or equal to 750° C. to make a calcined tungsten-phosphorus modified support that has the improved hydrothermal stability and that can be used to support a Co-loaded Fischer-Tropsch catalyst. A Co-loaded Fischer-Tropsch catalyst having improved hydrothermal stability and higher C5+ hydrocarbon productivity is also provided. A Fischer-Tropsch synthesis process is provided, comprising contacting a gaseous mixture comprising a carbon monoxide and a hydrogen with the Co-loaded Fischer-Tropsch catalyst having the improved hydrothermal stability and higher C5+ productivity, at a pressure of from 0.1 to 3 MPa and at a reaction temperature of from 180 to 260° C., thereby producing a product comprising C5+ hydrocarbons.

Abstract: Preparation of a catalyst suitable for use in Fischer-Tropsch Synthesis reactions using a two step process in which the steps may be performed in either order. In step a), impregnate an iron carboxylate metal organic framework selected from a group consisting of iron-1,3,5-benzenetricarboxylate (Fe-(BTC), Basolite™ F-300 and/or MIL-100 (Fe)), iron-1,4 benzenedicarboxylate (MIL-101(Fe)), iron fumarate (MIL-88 A (Fe)), iron-1,4 benzenedicarboxylate (MIL-53 (Fe)), iron-1,4 benzenedicarboxylate (MIL-68 (Fe)) or iron azobenzenetetracarboxylate (MIL-127 (Fe)) with a solution of a promoter element selected from alkali metals and alkaline earth metals. In step b) thermally decompose the iron carboxylate metal organic framework under an inert gaseous atmosphere to yield a catalyst that is a porous carbon matrix having embedded therein a plurality of discrete aliquots of iron carbide. If desired, add a step intermediate between steps a) and b) or preceding step b) wherein the metal organic framework is impregnated with an oxygenated solvent solution of a polymerizable additional carbon source and the polymerizable additional carbon source is thereafter polymerized.

Abstract: A catalyst system and a process for methanol to light olefin conversion with enhanced selectivity towards propylene. The catalyst system comprises a honeycomb monolith catalyst support coated with nanozeolite catalysts on the edges and inside the channels of the support structure. The nanozeolite catalysts have been pre-modified with metal. The catalyst system gives higher hydrothermal stability to the catalyst compared to randomly packed pellet catalyst and allows methanol to be converted to predominantly propylene at a low temperature, with decreased selectivity towards C2, higher olefins and paraffinic hydrocarbons.

Abstract: Improved catalyst supports, supported catalyst, and method of preparing and using the catalysts for the hydrodesulfurization of a residuum hydrocarbon feedstock are disclosed. The catalyst supports comprise titania alumina having 5 wt % or less titania and have greater than 70% of their pore volume in pores having a diameter between 70 Å and 130 Å and less than 2% in pores having a diameter above 1000 Å. Catalysts prepared from the supports contain Groups 6, 9 and 10 metals or metal compounds, and optionally phosphorus, supported on the titania alumina supports. Catalysts in accordance with the invention exhibit improved sulfur and MCR conversion in hydrotreating processes.
