Abstract: It is provided in a liquid application system for applying liquid to a material cake transported on a conveyor device having a liquid application device, that the conveyor device comprises a porous section on which the material cake lies or which the material cake contacts and which is permeable for a liquid to be applied, that the liquid application device comprises an application device via which the liquid to be applied can be applied to the side of the porous section of the conveyor device facing away from the material cake, and that the liquid application device comprises an overpressure chamber having a first overpressure relative to the environment by which the porous section of the conveyor device passes, wherein the applied liquid can be transported via the first overpressure through the porous section of the conveyor device or held via the first overpressure to the porous section.

Abstract: Systems and methods for safely repairing potable water tanks when submerged within a tank. The barrier may be shield structure defining a cavity and having an aperture and valve for injecting the coating material into the cavity, or the barrier may be a sheet preloaded with coating material and stored within and delivered via a transfer shield, or the barrier may be a continuous sheet delivered over the top of the coating material at the same time it is applied. The barrier layer, be it a shield structure sheet or continuous sheet, becomes adhered to the substrate being repaired so post cure removal is not required. Methods of repair include pressing the sealing edge of a barrier shield over an area, injecting coating material between the barrier shield and area, removing the source of coating material, and permitting the coating material to cure.

Abstract: An apparatus for producing a controlled dosage of bioactive agent is disclosed. The apparatus includes: a print device to eject a drop of a mixture onto an ingestible substrate, wherein the drop of mixture includes a bioactive agent within an ingestible carrier fluid and is between 50 ng and 1000 ng in size; a charge generating device adjacent to the print device to generate charge on the bioactive agent to draw the bioactive agent to the ingestible substrate; a cold fluid removal device adjacent to the charge generating device to remove a portion of the ingestible carrier fluid from the bioactive agent; an application device adjacent to the cold fluid removal device to apply an ingestible layer on top of the ingestible substrate encapsulating the bioactive agent or to fold the ingestible substrate on top of the bioactive agent encapsulating the bioactive agent; and a transfer device adjacent to the print device, the charge generating device, the cold fluid removal device, and the application device to move the ingestible substrate from one device to the next.

Abstract: Two methods are provided to make aluminum terminal electrodes for chip resistors. For a chip resistor having a high resistance, the structure is not changed but the aluminum terminal electrode must have a high solid content, including a high aluminum content and a high glass content. For porous-aluminum terminal electrodes applied to a chip resistor having a low resistance, a new structure is formed to change current-conducting paths through different sizes of a protecting layer and a resistor layer. Therein, original paths conducting to the resistor layer through front terminal electrodes are changed into new paths conducting to the resistor layer through side terminal electrodes.

The invention further relates to a coating obtainable according to the method of the invention, the use of a coating obtainable according to the method of the invention, a solid substrate comprising a coating obtainable according to the invention and the use of the solid substrate.

Abstract: A process for imparting improved toughness and durability, improving the surface appearance, and enhancing the coloration of a porous gypsum article created by 3D printing, casting or other means. The process includes the steps of first warming and drying the article; next, dipping it while warm into a bath of ultraviolet-activated liquid polyester resin at a lower temperature than the article, so the heat of the article lowers the resin's viscosity as air in the pores contracts and draws the resin in. The resin is chosen to have an index of refraction after curing as close as possible to that of pure gypsum. The resin is cured with ultraviolet light before applying a surface finishing coat to the cured resin by a second dipping into the same resin followed by curing or by spray-painting or other coating technique.
