Abstract: Communications plugs are provided that include a housing that receives the conductors of the communication cable. A printed circuit board is mounted at least partially within the housing. A plurality of plug contacts are on the printed circuit board, and the printed circuit board includes a plurality of conductive paths that electrically connect respective ones of the conductors to respective ones of the plug contacts. First and second of the conductive paths are arranged as a first differential pair of conductive paths that comprise a portion of a first differential transmission line through the communications plug, where the first differential transmission line includes a first transition region where the impedance of the first differential transmission line changes by at least 20% and a second transition region impedance of the first differential transmission line changes by at least 20%.

Abstract: A modular connector plug includes controlled capacitances to compensate for near end cross talk at the connector interface created by interaction of signals having signal frequencies in a data transmission bandwidth. A printed circuit board (PCB) is configured to receive cable pairs, and a connector assembly includes first and fourth plug contacts corresponding to the first cable pair and second and third plug contacts corresponding to the second cable pair. First ends of each contact are connected to the PCB, and second ends extend in parallel with each other and transversely to the PCB length, collectively defining a contact interface proximate the contact end. Each contact has a maximum width at the contact interface, with at least one plug contact having a maximum width greater than the maximum width of another plug contact. Each contact accordingly defines an electrode of a compensating capacitance formed between adjacent pairs of plug contacts.

Abstract: A computer system assembly that includes a substrate and a first board mounted on the substrate. A flexible cable is secured to the first board. The computer system assembly further includes a second board mounted on the substrate. The second board includes a FPC connector. The FPC connector includes a body having a channel extending through the body such that the flexible cable may be positioned in the channel and pulled entirely through the body of the FPC connector. The FPC connector further includes a latching mechanism that secures the flexible cable within the channel once the flexible cable is pulled through the FPC connector. The first board and the second board are moved closer together as the flex cable is pulled through the FPC connector before at least one of the first board and the second board is mounted on the substrate.

Abstract: A cable arranging part of the present invention has a fixed shape and comprises a position determining portion, a plurality of cable through holes, and an opening. In a state in which the position determining portion is secured to a position reference portion, the cable arranging part is in a predetermined position on a substrate. The cable through holes become perpendicular to a line of the electrodes and parallel to the substrate in the predetermined position. The opening is provided somewhere midway through the cable through holes and a ground cable through hole. As for the sizes of the cable through holes in a perpendicular direction to the substrate in the predetermined position, the size of the cable through hole on the side where the electrodes are located relative to the opening is greater than the size of the cable through hole on the side opposite to the electrodes.
