Abstract:
A system for applying a chemical agent within a pipe includes a skid assembly, moveable longitudinally within the pipe. The skid assembly has a bottom positionable on a bottom, internal portion of the pipe. A delivery nozzle is carried by the skid assembly and is coupleable to a chemical agent supply. A dispensing tip delivers a controlled stream of chemical agent within the pipe toward an internal surface of the pipe. The tip is held at or above a surface of fluid carried by the pipe while at least a portion of the skid assembly is positioned below the fluid surface. The dispensing tip is limited from delivering the chemical agent downwardly toward the bottom of the skid assembly such that the dispensing tip delivers the controlled stream of chemical agent upwardly away from the bottom surface of the pipe and upwardly away from the fluid surface.

The system includes a robot multi-jet system having a spray section, a drier section, and a catalyst section. The drier section includes a warm air blower, the catalyst section includes a photocatalyst tank, and the spray section includes a plurality of jet extensions. A first jet extension connected to the photocatalyst tank sprays a uniform layer of a photocatalyst through a first set of jets, and a second jet extension that is mechanically connected to the drier section and in fluid communication with the warm air blower is configured to spray a gas onto an inner surface of the glass tube with a second set of jets. Both the drier section and the catalyst section are mounted on wheels to move the system on the inner surface of the glass tube. A motor is electrically connected to a battery mounted within the robot and mounted to the wheels.

A system for field internally coating a pipe joint comprising a polymer application unit, which has a first cart configured to selectively advance inside a pipe; a first and a second tank configured to contain a first and a second polymer component respectively; a mixer to mix the first and the second component; a first and a second pump to feed the first and the second component respectively from the first and the second tank to the mixer; an applicator to apply the polymer to the pipe; and a conduit comprising a free end configured to be placed near the applicator to feed the polymer from the mixer to the applicator.

An apparatus and methods for applying an inner coating to a wellbore screen are described. The apparatus comprises a support for the wellbore screen, an elongate injector for injecting coating material into the inner bore of the wellbore screen, and a driver for positioning the elongate injector into the inner bore and moving the elongate injector through the inner bore to introduce coating material to the inner bore. The elongate injector has a supported end, a distal end, and a coating material delivery line extending through the elongate injector from a coating material supply to a port at the distal end.

This drive screw device is provided with: a drive screw; a drive unit which causes the drive screw to rotate; a slider which moves along the drive screw by means of the rotation of the drive screw; and an external load which is provided on the drive screw and applies a rotational load to the drive screw. By this means it is possible to provide a drive screw device with which there is little pressure variation even if a frictional force varies.

A coating apparatus is disclosed for applying an activated coating onto an internal surface of a conduit, the coating being activated by mixing at least a first and a second component. The apparatus includes a high-pressure mix gun for mixing the at least first and second components such that the activated coating is generated. A rotary atomizer is operatively connected to and cooperates with the high pressure mix gun for receiving the activated coating from the high pressure mix gun. The rotary atomizer cooperates with the activated coating such that the activated coating is atomized so that application of the atomized activated coating onto the internal surface of the conduit is permitted.

A coating device for coating an inside of a hollow body with an atomized fluid has at least one atomizing tube enclosing an atomizing channel. A pressurized propellant gas for atomizing an unatomized fluid can be introduced into the atomizing tube. The atomizing tube has at least one outlet opening and further has at least one hollow needle having a discharge opening for the unatomized fluid. The at least one hollow needle interacts with the atomizing channel and is arranged essentially coaxially thereto. The atomizing tube and the hollow needle form a Venturi arrangement.
