Abstract:
A liquid dispensing module and nozzle or die tip for discharging at least one liquid filament. The nozzle includes a strand guide for guiding a substrate past the nozzle and a frustoconical protrusion disposed on a surface of the nozzle adjacent the notch. A liquid discharge passage extends along an axis through the frustoconical protrusion and forms an acute angle with a machine direction corresponding to movement of the strand past the nozzle. Four air discharge passages are positioned at the base of the frustoconical protrusion. Each of the air discharge passages is angled in a compound manner generally toward the liquid discharge passage and offset from the axis of the liquid discharge passage to create the controlled pattern of liquid material on the strand.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a device for atomizing a liquid, thereby forming a hollow cone of liquid, comprising a housing into which a first liquid product can be supplied, said housing comprising an outflow end and an insert piece with a guide end that interacts with the outflow end, thereby forming an annular outflow gap, wherein the housing is accommodated in the bottom of a hollow casing; and wherein apertures are present in the bottom, while a second medium can be supplied into the hollow casing, flow out of the apertures and interact with the hollow cone. The invention also relates to a spray drier, with a device according to the invention, to a device for conditioning a liquid product using the invention, and a method for conditioning a liquid product, using a device according to the invention.
Abstract:
A device and method for applying adhesive to materials, such as elastic strands, used in the production of nonwoven products. Generally, a nozzle is provided and includes a liquid discharge orifice configured to discharge a bead of liquid adhesive. First and second pattern air discharge orifices are associated with the first liquid discharge orifice to vacillate or oscillate the adhesive bead. First and second cleaning and stabilizing air discharge orifices are also associated with the first liquid discharge orifice. These latter air discharge orifices keep airborne contaminants away from the associated liquid discharge orifice and also stabilize the oscillation of the adhesive bead in a single plane. A method in accordance with the invention includes using the nozzle to dispense a vacillating bead of adhesive onto a strand of material.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a coating device comprising: a coating gun (4) which is provided with a coating discharge port (42) and an atomization gas discharge port (44) formed near the coating discharge port (42), and which can eject compressed gas from the atomization gas discharge port (44); and a coating cartridge (1) provided with a container (20) and a coating ejection nozzle (23) extending from the bottom of the container (20); wherein the coating cartridge (1) is removably mounted into the coating gun (4) so that the tip of the coating ejection nozzle (23) is approximately aligned with the coating discharge port (42). The coating device obviates washing process when the coating cartridges are exchanged.
Abstract:
A liquid dispensing module and nozzle or die tip for dispensing at least one liquid filament from a liquid discharge passage onto at least one moving strand. A strand guide is used for guiding each strand past the nozzle and/or locating each strand relative to the discharged liquid filament. The nozzle includes a process air outlet that supplies a stream of process air impinging each moving strand before the liquid filament is dispensed onto the strand.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a process for spraying a one-component composition by a) activating the trigger mechanism of a caulking gun having two or more rams and containing two or more cartridges to incrementally advance a ram into operative engagement with each cartridge and dispense a first liquid binder component from a first cartridge and a second liquid additive component from a second cartridge into a static mixer having an optionally removable spray tip, b) mixing the first component and the second component in the static mixer, c) discharging the mixed liquid components from the static mixer through the optionally removable spray tip at the downstream end of the static mixer into an atomizing zone, d) introducing air into the atomizing zone, e) atomizing the mixed liquid components in the atomizing zone, f) spraying the atomized liquid components onto a substrate and g) during an interruption in the spraying process or after termination of the spraying process, discarding the static mixer and the optionally removable spray tip.
Abstract:
With a device for applying a coating agent onto a cyclically moved substrate, a uniform coating thickness may be achieved, although the rate of advance is not constant. At least one spray valve is provided which is permanently supplied with coating agent and the nozzle opening of which being adjustable with regard to the size of its effective discharge area in case of change of the rate of advance of the substrate according to the dependency, for a constant layer thickness of the coating agent, on the discharge rate of the coating agent out of the spray valve on the rate of advance of the substrate.
Abstract:
A liquid dispensing module and nozzle or die tip for discharging at least one liquid filament. The nozzle includes a wedge-shaped member having a pair of side surfaces converging to an apex. A liquid discharge passage extends along an axis through the wedge-shaped member and through the apex. The wedge-shaped member extends in a radially asymmetrical manner around the liquid discharge passage. Four air discharge passages are positioned at the base of the wedge-shaped member. At least one air discharge passage is positioned adjacent each of said side surfaces and each of the air discharge passages is angled in a compound manner generally toward the liquid discharge passage and offset from the axis of the liquid discharge passage.
