Abstract: The method includes applying a fluorinated fluid to at least one of a surface of an object or an adhesive surface on an adhesive article, positioning the adhesive surface to face the surface of the object such that the fluorinated fluid is between the surface of the object and the adhesive surface; and removing at least some of the fluorinated fluid to permit bonding between the surface of the object and the adhesive surface. The fluorinated fluid generally facilitates the repositioning of the adhesive surface on the surface of the object before removing the fluorinated fluid. A kit comprising an adhesive article and a container including a fluorinated fluid is also described.

Abstract: Provided is an aqueous amine-free coating composition including at least one heterocyclic polymer, wherein the heterocyclic polymer is in the form of powder having a d90 less than or equal to 20 μm. Also provided is an aqueous amine-free non-stick coating composition including such an aqueous composition for a coating, and the respective methods for producing same. Further provided is a method for producing an item on one of the faces of a metal substrate, from at least one layer of coating composition or one layer of non-stick coating composition according to the invention.

Abstract: In a process for applying a friction-resistant coating to a steel sucker rod, the rod is passed, in sequence, through a surface preparation stage (for example, scale removal, shot peening, or other suitable method), an adhesive application stage (to enhance the strength of the coating's bond to the rod), an extrusion stage (in which the rod is passed through a die in conjunction with a flow of melted polymeric coating material), and a cooling (coating solidification) stage. Typically, the radial thickness of the coating will be between 0.125 and 0.375 inches. The process is adaptable to apply extruded coatings to continuous rod or to individual sucker rods having upset ends. The coating may be selected from but is not limited to high-density polyethylene, cross-linked polyethylene, polyvinylidene fluoride, ethylene tetrafluoroethylene, polytetrafluoroethylene, polyphenylensulfide, nylon, polyester, polyethersulfone, polyethylene terephthalate, polypropylene, polystyrene, epoxy, or acetyl.

Abstract: An object of the present invention is to provide a method for forming a multilayer coating film, the method making it possible to obtain, with excellent curability at low temperatures and in a short period of time, a multilayer coating film exhibiting an excellent finished appearance. The present invention provides a method for forming a multilayer coating film, wherein a substrate is sequentially coated with at least one layer of one or more base coating compositions, and with one or more clear coating compositions, the method being characterized by utilizing a clear coating composition containing a hydroxy-containing acrylic resin (A) having a hydroxy value in a specific range; a polyisocyanate compound (B) having a viscosity in a specific range; and an organometallic catalyst (C) containing a metallic compound (C1) in which the metal is a member selected from the group consisting of zinc, tin, zirconium, bismuth, lead, cobalt, manganese, titanium, aluminum, and molybdenum, and an amidine compound (C2).

Abstract: Provided is an antifouling sheet having an antifouling layer formed of an antifouling layer-forming composition containing a specific tetrafunctional silane compound (A) and a specific trifunctional silane compound (B) wherein the content of the component (B) is 8 to 90 mol % relative to 100 mol % of the component (A), and the antifouling layer is a layer formed by drying and curing a coating film formed of the antifouling layer-forming composition, in an ammonia atmosphere. Abstract: An inside surface of a hose for use with liquid-cooled cooling plate assemblies and other applications that contain copper (Cu) components is pre-treated with a hydrophobic coating to reduce depletion of a copper corrosion inhibitor (e.g., benzotriazole (BTA)) dissolved in a liquid coolant (e.g., deionized water) that flows through the hose. Exemplary hydrophobic coatings include, but are not limited to, polydialkylsiloxanes such as polydimethylsiloxanes. In one embodiment, a multilayer hose is immersed in a solution containing hydrophobizing siloxane monomers dissolved in a solvent. The coated multilayer hose is then dried to evaporate the solvent. As the solvent evaporates, the siloxane monomers bind together to form the hydrophobic coating. In some embodiments, one or more hoses each provided with a hydrophobic coating interconnect liquid-coolant cooling system components (e.g., cold plates, headers, manifolds, pumps, reservoirs, and heat exchangers) of a cooling apparatus that removes heat from one or more electronic components.
