Abstract:
A variable-width viscous fluid applicator, and related methods, may include an applicator having wall portions adjustable toward and away from each other, an injection port being formed in a bridge portion that spans upper ends of the wall portions. The applicator may be engaged around the edge of a component such as a panel. A bead of viscous fluid may be applied and shaped by injecting the fluid through the injection port and moving the applicator along the panel edge.
Abstract:
An imprinting apparatus includes: a coating unit which coats a substrate with ink including a photocurable resin in a diluent; a pressing unit which presses the ink with an imprint stamp including an uneven pattern; and a light source which irradiates light to the ink, which is in a pressed state, and cures the photocurable resin. The coating unit, the pressing unit and the light source move relative to the substrate in a processing direction. The coating unit is located ahead of the pressing unit in the processing direction.
Abstract:
A graphene electrode, an energy storage device employing the same, and a method for fabricating the same are provided. The graphene electrode includes a metal foil, a non-doped graphene layer, and a hetero-atom doped graphene layer. Particularly, the hetero-atom doped graphene layer is separated from the metal foil by the non-doped graphene layer.

A photoconductor and method of forming a photoconductor for an electrophotographic device comprising forming a charge generation material comprising a plurality of quantum dots, and forming an active region comprising one or more photoconductor layers comprising the charge generation material including the surface modified quantum dots.
Abstract:
A method of manufacturing a polymer-insulated conductor. The method includes the steps of a) providing a conductor having a first cross-sectional shape, b) passing the conductor through a conductor-shaping die to shape the conductor such that the conductor obtains a second cross-sectional shape, wherein frictional heat is developed in the conductor, thereby setting the conductor in a heated state, c) applying molten polymer to the conductor when the conductor is in the heated state to obtain a polymer-coated conductor, and d) shaping the polymer-coated conductor by means of a polymer-shaping die to thereby obtain the polymer-insulated conductor.
Abstract:
An imprint method includes, in the peeling step of peeling a mold off the material layer to be transferred, a region-of-contact recognition operation of recognizing and determining a region of contact of the mold with the material layer to be transferred, a center-of-gravity locating operation of determining a center of gravity of a morphology of the thus recognized region of contact on the basis of that morphology, and a peeling operation of determining a point of force for applying peeling force to the mold or the imprinting substrate in relation to the center of gravity determined by the center-of-gravity locating operation, thereby acting the peeling force on the point of force.
Abstract:

The mandrel can comprise an elongate shaft and a rolling membrane configured to atraumatically engage the tubular conduit.
Abstract:
A pressure sensitive adhesive composition is described comprising at least 50 wt-% of polymerized units derived from alkyl meth(acrylate) monomer(s); and 0.2 to 15 wt-% of at least one crosslinking monomers comprising a (meth)acrylate group and a C6-C20 olefin group, the olefin group being optionally substituted. In another embodiment, an adhesive composition is described comprising a syrup comprising i) a free-radically polymerizable solvent monomer; and ii) a solute (meth)acrylic polymer comprising polymerized units derived from one or more alkyl(meth)acrylate monomers; wherein the syrup comprises at least one crosslinking monomer or the (meth)acrylic solute polymer comprises polymerized units derived from at least one crosslinking monomer, the crosslinking monomer comprising a (meth)acrylate group and a C6-C20 olefin group, the olefin group being optionally substituted. In yet other embodiments, methods of preparing adhesive compositions are described
Abstract:
A device for forming a microstructured coating on a substrate. The device includes a microstructured band that can be moved by rolling without slipping on the substrate and going around main pressure application elements assembled on a chassis, and secondary pressure application elements assembled on the chassis so as to be in contact with an inner face of the band in a zone of a strand of the band delimited by said main pressure application elements, this zone being exposed to the action of a curing apparatus that accelerates curing of a curable material designed to form said coating. A method for forming a microstructured coating using the above-mentioned device.
Abstract:
A method of dispensing adhesive onto a stretched elastic strand includes applying a first volume of adhesive onto a first portion of the elastic strand, applying a second volume of adhesive onto a second portion of the elastic strand, and applying a third volume of adhesive onto a third portion of the elastic strand. The second volume is less than the first and third volumes. When the elastic strand is adhesively secured to a substrate to form a personal disposable hygiene product, the first and third portions of the elastic strand define opposing ends of the elastic strand, which are adhered with a larger amount of adhesive capable of limiting movement of the strand at the opposing ends, thereby maintaining the integrity of the bond between the substrate and the elastic strand.
