    Abstract: A coated article comprising a stainless steel base having an etched surface and having on the etched surface a coated layer. The coating layer may comprise a fluororesin and can be provided: after sensitizing the stainless steel base through heating, treating with an acid, subjecting to etching, and subjecting to a solution treatment; after immersing in an aqueous acid solution or an aqueous ferric chloride solution to cause the base to be dissolved to such an extent that the gloss of the surface disappears; after uniformly abrading the surface of the base through buffing or blasting to the weight corresponding to a thickness of 1.0 .mu.m or more of the base, immersing in an aqueous acid solution or an aqueous ferric chloride solution to cause the base to be dissolved to such an extent that the gloss of the surface disappears, and subjecting to etching; or after subjecting to electrolytic etching at 15.degree.     Abstract: A process for the production of coated or lacquered metal containers for receiving foods is described, in which the internal coating takes place by first applying a vinylchloride-based organosol followed by baking for 8 to 15 minutes at 175.degree. to 225.degree. C. Then an epoxy-phenol lacquer is applied and also baked for 8 to 15 minutes at 175.degree. to 225.degree. C. The metal sheet is then shaped to the desired container. The shaping preferably takes place by deep drawing and especially DRD deep drawing. The double coating results in improved properties of the internal coating and has the particular advantage that colorings, which are set free from coloring delivering filled products, are not absorbed so that there is no staining when emptying the container.

    Abstract: A plastic bottle has as a wall-forming component a layer of a copolymer consisting essentially of 99 to 70% by weight of vinylidene cloride and 1 to 40% by weight of at least one acrylic or methacrylic monomer and further including up to 100 parts by weight of at least one member selected from other ethylenically unsaturated monomers per 100 parts by weight of the total amount of the first two monomers, the copolymer having an oxygen permeability constant of less than 9.times.10.sup.-14 cc.multidot.cm/cm.sup.2 .multidot.sec.multidot.cmHg as measured at a temperature of 20.degree. C. and a relative humidity of 100% and a water vapor permeability constant of less than 3.times.10.sup.-3 g.multidot.cm/m.sup.2 .multidot.day as determined according to the method of JIS Z-0208.This plastic bottle is obtained by casting an aqueous latex or the like of the above-mentioned copolymer in a bottle mold and drying the cast latex. This aqueous latex may be formed as a coating layer on a preformed plastic bottle. In this plastic bottle, the humidity dependency of the oxygen barrier property is prominently reduced.
