    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device having a COG (chip on glass) structure in which the width of the frame can be effectively decreased even in the COG structure. SOLUTION: In the liquid crystal display device having a COG structure, a common wiring 11 to connect plural chips 3 and a flexible printed circuit board(FPC) 8 are formed on a glass substrate 1. Pins 4-2 of the chips 3 to connect with the FPC and the common wiring 11 are connected on the glass substrate 1. The common wiring 11 and the FPC 8 are connected by using connecting terminals 7-1, 7-2 for the FPC which are disposed at least in one point on the common wiring 11.

SOLUTION: A first heat conductive rubber 83 is laid on the opposite surface of a printed wiring film 42 to a driver IC 43, a second heat conductive rubber 84 is laid on the opposite surface of the driver IC 43 to the printed wiring film 42, and the first rubber 82 is made harder than the second rubber 84. A heat conductive grease is applied to the contact surface of the first rubber 82 with the wiring film 42 and the contact surface of the second rubber 84 with the driver IC 43.

As a preferable state for executing input for controlling the prescribed function, operation for touching one touch switch area 6 or operation for simultaneously touching plural touch switch areas 6 is executed once or plural times in the prescribed order.     Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device housing a touch sensor unit which realizes a small-size and lightweight device by disposing a display electrode and touch electrode to detect the touch point formed on at least, either on a first substrate on the side adjacent to a liquid crystal layer or on a second substrate in the side adjacent to the liquid crystal layer. SOLUTION: A first display electrode 15 and a first touch electrode 16 are formed on a first substrate 14, and a second display electrode 18 and a second touch electrode 19 are formed on a second substrate 17. A liquid crystal layer 20 is held between the first substrate 14 and the second substrate 17. By this constitution, compared a liquid crystal display device with a touch sensor unit externally attached, the thickness or weight of the device itself can be decreased, and moreover, the cost can be reduced. As a result, a touch sensor function can be added to an electronic appliance such as a notebook type personal computer which is required to be small in size and lightweight and which has a large screen size to a certain degree.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the size and weight of an apparatus by integrally molding a light transmission plate and a frame by providing both with deformation relieving means. SOLUTION: The light transmission plate 2 and the frame 3 are formed by integrating both by means, such as, for example, two-color molding. The coeffts. of linear expansion and water absorptivity of the members constituting the light transmission plate 2 and the members constituting the frame 3 are so set that their respective values are in a range within ±50%, by which the occurrence of the deformation by a difference between dimensional changes is prevented. An acrylic resin is optimum in terms of optical characteristics, such as transparency, as the members which may be adopted for the light transmission plate 2. Then, the dimensional shapes by the ambient temp. and humidity are made exactly the same with both 2, 3 and the occurrence of the deformation is averted if the acrylic resin colored to, for example, white, is adopted for the frame 3 as well. The use of universal resin materials for the frame 3 is made possible as the second deformation relieving means and ABS resins, etc., are adopted.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: To obtain a back light for liquid crystal display device and a liquid crystal display device where a light source can be safely and easily replaced in perpendicular from the rear side in a small space and the cost is reduced. CONSTITUTION: A lamp guard unit 26 of a back light 20 is freely detachable from a lamp hold unit 24, which is fixed to a light transmission plate 22, in the direction orthogonal to the light irradiated face of the light transmission plate 22. Consequently, it is unnecessary to replace the whole of the back light 20 when a fluorescent lamp 44 is replaced, and a user is safe because he doesn't touch the fluorescent lamp 44 difficult to handle, and further, only a small space is required for detachment ecause it is pulled out in the perpendicular direction, and thus, the fluorescent lamp 44 is safely and easily replaced in the small space.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the weight and thickness of the device and to permit position detection with high sensitivity and high resolution by integrally providing a substrate or polarizing plate with a position detection conductive film of an analog capacitor coupling system. SOLUTION: A liquid crystal layer 12 is held between two sheets of glass; a substrate 8 and a substrate 18. The position detection conductive film 20 is disposed on either the front or rear surface of the polarizing plate 24 or the substrate 18 by integration therewith. When the position detection accuracy and the electrical influence on the liquid crystal layer 12 are taken into consideration, the position detection conductive film 20 is preferably disposed on the side nearer the polarizing plate 24 than an ITO film 14. More preferably, the position detection conductive film 20 is disposed between the polarizing plate 24 and the substrate 18. The use of the ITO film 14 which is a common electrode existing between the position detection conductive film 20 and a TFT array 10 as a noise shield is made possible and the position detection of the extremely high accuracy which hardly receives the influence of noise may be embodied.
