    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tactile sensor loading a nanowire and its production method. SOLUTION: The tactile sensor device capable of using as a high resolution tactile detection function is disclosed. The sensor can be used as a tactile shear sensor. It comprises a circuit substrate, an array of contact pad on the circuit substrate and a set of nanowire attached on each contact pad. The contact pad is isolated from or formed with the matrix of material cross strip. Each set of nanowire is provided with at least one nanowire or desirably a plurality of vertically arrayed nanowires of the same length. When an object contacts at least one nanowire in a set of a plurality of nanowires, the set bends and the object contacts another set of nanowires. To determine whether a connection is formed between them, the position of the object and the motion activity can be detected by electrically surveying a pair of contact pads.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for forming a group III compound area selectively using a masking layer to grow group III nitride of a single crystal and group III nitride material of a polycrystal at different growing speeds. SOLUTION: An epitaxial process is selected to conduct a vertical growth so as to transfer the edge of a mask at a designated limit for a selected region. The polycrystal material (grown on a mask layer) can be removed by using an etchant for selectively etching group III nitride material of the polycrystal and the single crystal. In this case, the group III nitride of the single crystal (grown on the exposed substrate material) remains without being removed as it is.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a better system and method determining a wireless mobile unit 2 by using only a base station. SOLUTION: A position of the wireless mobile unit 2 is determined by a measurement value of the single base station. A distance between the wireless mobile unit 2 and base station is computed by using a round trip delay value of a RF up-link signal received from the wireless mobile unit 2. Then, an arrival angle of the received signal is determined as a measurement value received from each of a plurality of antenna sectors in a multi-sector antenna. The arrival angle is determined based on the antenna signal measurement value memorized of the multi-sector antenna, and a combination of discrete sector signal measurement values corresponds to a single angle measurement value. By using the determined distance and arrival angle, the position of the wireless mobile unit 2 is easily determined by using only the measurement value of the single base station.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve frame matching in a data transmission system. SOLUTION: The receiver of the data transmission system checks bit positions related to a received data stream and decides the number of bits respectively coinciding with a prescribed bit pattern at the bit positions. The number for a certain bit position is compared with a 1st threshold and a 2nd threshold. When the number is equal to or greater than the 1st threshold, the bit position is specified as a position related to an erroneous framing pattern. When the number is equal to or greater than the 2nd threshold, the bit position is specified as a potential framing bit position, namely, a possible framing bit position. When a certain bit position is specified as a potential framing bit position and there is no other bit position specified as a bit position related to the erroneous framing pattern, a frame matching state is declared.
