Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a dual port RAM which uses a single port SRAM cell, can be manufactured by using a small integrated circuit surface area, is inexpensive and large, and operates at high speed. SOLUTION: A pipelined dual port integrated circuit memory 20 comprises an array 30 of static random access memory (SRAM) cells, and each of memory cells 80 is connected to a single word line 72 and a pair of single bit lines 74, 76. A control circuit 32 controls access to a memory cell substantially simultaneous request to access is successively served in a clock signal of a single cycle of a data processor accessing to the memory 20. An address collision detector compares addresses given to two ports, and generates a matching signal used for deciding which port is served first out of two ports independently whichever port out or written in.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric switch with low manufacturing cost and small dimension by arranging a first switch and a second switch adjacently, arranging a third switch in the back thereof, starting the first and second switches by a rocker actuator, and starting the third switch by a selector actuator. SOLUTION: A first switch 102 having a first tactile actuator turned in a prescribed direction is arranged adjacently to a second switch 104 having a second tactile actuator turned in a prescribed direction. A third switch 106 having a third tactile actuator is arranged in the back of the switches 102, 104. The first and second switches 102, 104 are started in response to the starting of a rocker actuator 108 having rocker arms 152, 154. The third switch 106 is started by a selector actuator 110 having an extension part 172 between the rocker arms 152 and 154. Thus, a switch assembly 100 easily usable for portable wireless telephone can be provided.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce readout delay without increasing the system cost, weight, power consumption, and complexity of a data processing system by automatically expanding and restarting writing/erasing operation of a bank of a flash memory when the same bank needs to be read. SOLUTION: The flash memory 12 has banks of memory cells. When a request to read the flash memory 12 at the same bank with a memory cell where writing/erasing operation is performed, the writing/erasing operation is extended while the reading operation is carried out. A wait signal RDY/ WAIT* is asserted by the flash memory 12, and consequently the extension of the writing/erasing operation is shown to a processor 10. After read data are prepared, the wait signal RDY/WAIT* is negated. When more than one reading operation is requested, following reading operations are all performed before the writing/erasing operation is restarted.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lake receiver and a finger managing method improved for providing the merit of path diversity even when the interval of multipath radio waves is shorter than one-chip time. SOLUTION: A lake receiver 112 is provided with plural fingers 122, 124 and 128. Each finger is provided with a demodulator for demodulating the radio waves of multiple path signals and a time tracking circuit for controlling the timewise position of the finger based on the timewise position of the radio wave. Low delay spreading conditions are detected, the positions of two adjacent fingers are controlled and fingers more than two are prevented from being converged around a common timewise position. By maintaining the timing intervals of fingers, even during low delay spreading conditions, the path diversity is effectively utilized by the lake receiver 112 and the performance of the receiver is improved.

SOLUTION: A surface-mountable flexible interconnection 100 which connects two electronic assemblies together is formed of a flexible film board 110. A conductive metal runner 120 runs along a bottom surface 114 of the board 110, an array of solder pads 122 each mounted with a solder bump 123 is connected to a second terminal 124 located at the second edge of the board 110. The hard sheet of a printed circuit board material 130 bonded to the top surface of the board 110 with a strong adhesive agent 142 is directly laid on the solder pad array to function as a stress relaxing mechanism. The second edge of the board 110 is attached to the top side 132 of the hard sheet with a temporary adhesive agent 140 of low adhesion.

Such information on the second radio device 126 is directly communicated between the user interface and the second radio device 126.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a low-cost semiconductor chip containing dual wavelength, monolithically integrated VCSEL, which is capable of read/write applications for both CDs and SVDs, while meeting the requirements for the interchangeability in the reverse direction. SOLUTION: This method of fabrication for exiting long and short wavelength beams, containing a first mirror stack lattice-matching with a dual wavelength monolithically integrated vartical cavity surface-exiting lasers(VCSEL) and a substrate 12 surface. Respective VCSELs contain a mirror pair of a AlAs/AlGaAs material system, an active region lattice-matches with the surface of the first mirror stack, while the second mirror stack lattice-matches with the surface of the active region, making feasible the exiting of either a short or a long wavelength beam depending on the design parameter. Moreover, the electric contact couples with the active region of the monolithically integrated short wavelength VCSEL and the monolithically integrated long wavelength VCSEL. In such a constitution, the dual wavelength monolithically integrated VCSEL is fabricated as a semiconductor laser chip which is capable of read/write applications for both CD and DVD.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the peel-off of a contact to be minimum by forming strong junction against a silicon surface through the use of a nickel-silicide layer in the contact of a semiconductor element. SOLUTION: A metal dope/nickel-silicide layer 12 is formed on the surface 16 of a semiconductor substrate 11. Since the metal dope/nickel-silicide layer 12 is a catalyst for promoting metal-silicon reaction, an adhesive layer is formed and adhesion with respect the surface 16 of the contact 10 is made surely. In the contact 10, a nickel layer 13 is formed on the metal dope/nickel/silicide layer 12, and it is coated with a contact layer 14. A nickel layer 13 is protected, and its oxidation is prevented. Thus, the peel-off of the contact 10 is suppressed to be minimum.
