Abstract: PURPOSE: A pharmaceutical composition with enhanced antioxidation activity is provided to protect damaged muscle tissues caused by reactive oxygen. CONSTITUTION: A pharmaceutical composition with enhanced antioxidation activity contains an extract of matured Zingiber officinale Roscoe. The matured Zingiber officinale Roscoe is stored at 70-90°C and a humidity of 70-90% for 5-15 days. The extract reduces oxidative damages of muscle tissues. A health food with enhanced antioxidation activity contains the extract.

Abstract: PURPOSE: A manufacturing method of red ginseng is provided to prevent a browning phenomenon, to maintain the original shape thereof, and to have excellent extraction yields within a short period of time. CONSTITUTION: A manufacturing method of red ginseng comprises a step of high temperature and high pressure treating ginseng with 5 kgf/cm^2 at 130-155 °C; a step of drying ginseng to a moisture content of 10-5 wt; a step of rapidly cooling the ginseng to 20-45 °C. The vacuum drying step is conducted at 22-32 °C for 12-18 hours. Before the high temperature and high pressure treatment, pre-drying up to a moisture content of 5-45 wt% is conducted. The pre-drying is conducted at 45-60 °C for 20-100 hours.

Abstract: PURPOSE: Chitosan-tripolyphosphate(TPP) nano-particles and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to adjust the size of chitosan nano-particles and to reduce the coagulating phenomenon of the chitosan nano-particles by changing a homogenizing condition, an organic solvent, and a cross-linking agent in a nano-emulsion manufacturing process. CONSTITUTION: A method for manufacturing chitosan-tripolyphosphate nano-particles includes the following: A solution, in which a material to be collected in dichloromethane is dissolved, is applied to aqueous chitosan solution. An oil-in-water emulsion is formed by stirring and homogenizing the chitosan solution. The oil-in-water emulsion is mixed and reacted with TPP as a cross-linking agent. Dichloromethane is eliminated. The concentration of the aqueous chitosan solution is between 1.0 and 10.0%(w/v). The material to be collected in dichloromethane is s-allylcysteine, lycopene, beta-carotene, ellagic acid, anthocyanin, genistein, glutathione, and capsaicin.

Abstract: A polysaccharide fraction for reducing blood sugar, which produced by fermenting the Ganoderma lucidum(KCTC 6532) is provided to improve the function related to insulin resistance and suppress the apoptosis of pancreatic beta cell. A method for manufacturing a polysaccharide fraction for reducing blood sugar comprises: a step of fermenting a ginseng with a Gnoderma lucidum; a step of filtering the fermented material with distilled water; and a step of mixing the filtered solution and ethanol and obtaining precipitate of polysaccharide fraction. The Ganoderma lucidum is Ganoderma lucidum(KCTC 6532) The polysaccharide fraction increases the activity of glucokinase in a hepatocyte, and increases the phosphorylation of AkT protein, activates AMPK(AMP-activated protein kinase), and suppress the apoptosis of pancreatic beta cell.
