Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject new compound having a specific end alkyloxyalkylene chain, providing a reduced undesirable side effect and skin irritation, capable of rapidly imparting an effect of a strong warm feeling to skin when using the compound, capable of sustaining the feeling for a long period and useful as a skin preparation for external use. SOLUTION: This new production is the one of formula I [R to R are each H, OH or a 1-4C (branched) alkoxy, or two of the R to R form an α- methylenedioxy by binding to each other, with the proviso that all of the R to R are not simultaneously H; R is CH2 CH2 O, CH2 CH(CH3 )O or CH(CH3 )CH2 O; R is a 1-6C (branched) alkyl; (n) is 1-3], e.g. 2-methoxyethyl vanillyl ether. The compound of formula I is obtained by reacting a compound of formula II (X is a halogen) with a compound of formula III in a solvent or without the solvent.

CONSTITUTION:A omega-phosphonium fatty acid ester expressed by formula I [R is 1-6C alkyl or alkenyl; R is hydrocarbon; X is halogen; (m) is 5-16] and prepared by reacting a omega-halofatty acid ester with a phosphine compound is dissolved in N,N-dimethylformamide and sodium methoxide is added to the solution and the mixture is stirred at ambient temperature for 20min and a compound expressed by formula II [R and R are methyl or ethyl; (n) is 0 or 1] (e.g. 2-methylbutyl aldehyde) is added to the reactional product and made to react with the reactional product at ambient temperature for 3hr to provide the objective branched fatty acids expressed by formula III (e.g. 13-methyl-11- pentadecenoic acid methyl ester) and useful as a blend ingredient of hair cosmetics, antimicrobial agent, therapeutic acid, etc.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a composition capable of permanently straightening curly or twisted hair by nature without damaging the normal hair, containing a keratin-reducing substance and a guanidine derivative as active ingredients. SOLUTION: This hair treatment agent composition contains, as active ingredients, 1-20wt.% of a keratin-reducing substance (e.g. thioglycolic acid) and 0.1-30wt.% of a guanidine derivative of the formula (-N ring is a heterocyclic group such as of azetidine, pyrrolidine or piperidine; R and R are each H, an alkyl, hydroxyl, etc.; Z and Z are each H, an alkyl or alkenyl) or an acid-added salt thereof, and pref. formulated with 0.5-50wt.% of an organic solvent (e.g. n-propanol). The compound of the formula is e.g. N-(aminoiminomethyl)-trans-4-hydroxy-L-proline. The composition can be prepared by a conventional means into an one-pack or two-pack type curly hair corrective, straight perming agent, permanent wave agent, etc.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a skin cosmetic capable of exhibiting excellent crease improving effect and good feeling to users by combining a guanidine derivative having a specific structure or its acid addition salt with a synthetic sphingosine. SOLUTION: This skin cosmetic is obtained by combinedly using (A) a guanidine derivative of formula I [A and B are each a 2-8C alkylene; D is a direct bond, CO or a 1-6C alkylene; E is H, an alkyl, an aralkyl or an aryl; (m) is 1-6; (n) is 0-6; R is H, an alkyl, (AO)m -(BO)n -D-E] of formula II [(k) is 1-10; G is H, OH, COOH, sulfonic acid or phoshoric acid] or its acid addition salt and (B) a synthetic sphingosine derivative of formula III (R is a 4-40C hydrocarbon; R to R are each H or a 1-10C hydrocarbon; X and Y are each H or an alkyl). The skin cosmetic is preferably obtained by blending 0.001-50wt.% component A with 0.0001-10wt.% component B. An organic acid or its ester in an amount of 0.001-30wt.% may further be added to the system. The component of formula I is e.g. obtained from a compound of formula IV.

The compound is preferably used as a skin preparation for external use in a dosage form such as a lotion, an emulsion, a skin lotion, a dentifrice, a soap, a cataplasm and a cream regulated so as to include 0.001-10 wt.%, preferably 0.01-5 wt.% compound of the formula.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject compound useful as an intermediate, etc., for producing surfactants or oil- and water-proofing agents in high purity and in high yield by reacting a specific alcohol with an allyl halide in the presence of a solid alkali using a tertiary alcohol as a reaction solvent. SOLUTION: This allyl perfluoroalkyl expressed by Rf -(CH2 )n -O-CH2 -CH=CH2 is obtained by reacting a perfluoroalkyl alcohol of Rf -(CH2 )n -OH [Rf is a perfluoroalkyl; (n) is 1-12], (e.g. 2,2,2-trifluoroethanol, etc.), with an allyl halide (e.g. allyl chloride, etc.), in the presence of a solid alkali (preferably sodium hydroxide having 0.01-1 mm particle size) using preferably 1-300 wt.% of a tertiary alcohol (preferably 2-methyl-2-propanol) as a solvent based on the perfluoroalkyl alcohol at a temperature equal to or less than the boiling point of the allyl halide for 0.5-2 hours.

The guanidine derivative, the synthetic sphingosine derivative, and the organic acid or its ester are preferably compounded in amounts of 0.001-50wt.%, 0.0001-10wt.% and 0.001-30wt.%, respectively, in the preparation.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a wrinkles improver containing a guanidine derivative having a specific structure or its acid addition salt as an active ingredient, capable of suppressing occurrence of wrinkles without impairing normal skin physiology and excellent in effect for eliminating wrinkles and having good feeling to users. SOLUTION: This wrinkles improver is obtained by using a guanidine derivative of formula I [A and B are each a 2-8C alkylene; D is a direct bond or a 1-6C alkylene; E is H, an alkyl, an aralkyl or an aryl; (m) is 1-6; (n) is 0-6; R is H, an alkyl or (AO)m (BO)n -D-E] or formula II [(k) is 1-10; G is H, OH, COOH, sulfonic acid or phosphoric acid] or its acid addition salt. The wrinkles improver is useful as a cosmetic for preventing aging. The content of the active ingredient is preferably 0.001-50wt.%. An organic acid or its ester in an amount of 0.001-30wt.% is preferably further added to the system. A dicarboxylic acid is preferably used as the organic acid. The compound of formula I is obtained by reacting, e.g. a compound of formula III with a guanidination reagent.

CONSTITUTION:A hair modification agent composition contains 0.1-10wt.%, especially l-10wt.%, of an alpha-sulfocarboxylic acid or its salt, preferably a compound of formula [each one of R and R is H, an alkali metal, an alkaline earth metal or NR R R R (each one of R5 to R8 is H, or a l-6C straight chain or branched chain alkyl which may be substituted by OH); each one of R and R is a 1-10C straight chain or branched chain alkyl or aryl, which may be substituted by OH, an alkoxy, an acyl, an acyloxy, a carboxyl or amino]. The above composition is preferred to be acidic and to be adjusted at pH2 to 7, especially at pH3 to 6. And further it is preferable to combine a surfactant, a silicone and/or a cationic polymer to the above composition to improve feelings at and after use.
