    Abstract: PURPOSE: An engine equipped with a water jacket is provided to effectively cool a cylinder head by the smooth flow of cooling water since upper and lower water jackets are connected through a drilling process. CONSTITUTION: An engine equipped with a water jacket comprises a cylinder head(100), a protrusion(110), an upper water jacket, a lower water jacket, and a connection water jacket. The protrusion is integrated with the cylinder, and an exhaust outlet assembly(120) is formed on the external surface thereof. The upper water jacket is formed inside the protrusion along the upper side(140) thereof. The lower water jacket is formed inside the protrusion along the lower side(130) thereof. The connection water jacket is formed with a drilled hole passing from the upper side of the protrusion to the lower side of the protrusion. The exhaust outlet assembly is formed at the central of the protrusion.

A barrier divides an inner space into first and second spaces(11,12) and is installed on the floor with a given height. Mg inoculants(16) and a cover(17) are stacked from the bottom to the top on the second space of a ladle(10). The molten metal of the CGI cast iron is tapped into the first space of the ladle. If the molten metal passes through the barrier and flows into the second space, then the cover first melts, and then the Mg inoculants react.

CONSTITUTION: A manufacturing method of a light-weight cam shaft comprises following steps. A cam lobe unit(110) is installed in a mold wherein the shape of a cam shaft(100) is molded. If the cam lobe unit is installed, a cavity is formed inside by coupling the molds. A half-solidified layer is created on the outer surface of the aluminum molten metal inserted into the cavity. The molten metal is injected into the cavity at low speed so that damage to the half-solidified layer is prevented.
