Abstract: PURPOSE: A composition containing alpha-glucosidase is provided to prevent or teat diabetes without side effects. CONSTITUTION: A composition for preventing or treating diabetes contains Salicornia gerbacea fermentation as an active ingredient. The Salicornia gerbacea fermentation fraction is prepared by adding Salicornia gerbacea fermentation using hexane. A method for preparing the fraction comprises: a step of adding sugar to Salicornia gerbacea and fermenting for 45-51 months to obtain Salicornia gerbacea fermentation; a step of adding water to the Salicornia gerbacea fermentation to prepare suspension; and a step of adding hexane to the suspension. A food composition for preventing or treating diabetes contains Salicornia gerbacea fermentation as an active ingredient.

Abstract: A method for preparing the germinated unpolished rice by using an elicitor, and the germinated unpolished rice prepared by the method are provided to improve obesity suppressing effect and lipase inhibitory activity. A method for preparing the germinated unpolished rice by using an elicitor comprises the step of sprouting the unpolished rice in the germination culture medium containing an elicitor at a temperature of 23-27 deg.C for 70-74 ours. Preferably the elicitor is a mixture comprising 0.03-0.05 parts by weight of chitosan and 0.02-0.05 parts by weight of salt based on 1 part by weight of the total germination culture medium.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a composition for preventing diabetes, comprising a Suaeda japonica juice powder and having an effect of preventing pancreatic β-cell destruction, and a method for preparing the same. More specifically, when OLETF mice with obesity and diabetes naturally induced during growth due to a genetic defect of the CCK-1 receptor were fed a Suaeda japonica juice powder prepared by obtaining a juice from fresh Suaeda japonica then spraying and drying the juice, an effect of reducing pancreatic β-cell dysfunction and destruction resulting from insulin resistance and hyperinsulinemia was confirmed.
