Abstract:
A pre-polymerized catalyst component for the polymerization of olefins, characterized by comprising (a) a solid catalyst component, comprising Ti, Mg and a halogen and a bidentate electron donor compound (BE) in an amount such that the molar ratio (BE)/Ti ranges from 0 to 0.3, and (b) an amount of an ethylene (co)polymer ranging from 0.1 up to less than 30g per g of said solid catalyst component and being characterized by an intrinsic viscosity, measured in tetraline at 135°C, of at least 3.0 dL/g; said prepolymerized catalyst component also showing a porosity measured by mercury method in the range 0.1 to 1 cm3/g. The pre-polymerized catalyst has a high morphological stability and produces a low amount of fines.

A polypropylene composition comprising (percentages being referred to the total A+B): A) from 60 to 90wt%, of a fraction insoluble in xylene at 25 °C, comprising more than 90 %wt of propylene units, and B) from 10 to 40wt%; of a fraction soluble in xylene at 25 °C comprising a copolymer of propylene and ethylene containing an average content of ethylene derived units from 30.0 wt% to 50.0wt%, said fraction being characterized by the fact that when subjected to GPC fractionation and continuous IR analysis for determining the ethylene content of the eluted fractions (GPC-IR analysis), it shows that the content of ethylene increases along with the Mw for fractions having Mw higher than the average.

The present disclosure generally relates to a catalyst (i) which comprises a titanium compound, a magnesium compound and an ether, where the catalyst is activated by using two different alkyl compounds (ii) and (iii) in sequence and under specific molar ratios relative to each other and to the ether of the solid catalyst component (i). In some embodiments, the activated catalyst has an increased polymerization activity.

The catalyst system based on the solid catalyst component is endowed with high activity and stereospecificity.

A process for the preparation of a solid catalyst component comprising a Ti compound, a Bi compound and optionally an electron donor on a Mg chloride based support, said process comprising one or more steps (a) carried out at a temperature ranging from 0 to 150°C in which a Mg based compound of formula (M g Cl m X 2-m )*nLB, in which m ranges from 0 to 2, n ranges from 0 to 6, X is, independently R 1 , OR 1 , -OCOR 1 or 0-C(0)-OR 1 group in which R 1 is a C 1 -C 20 hydrocarbon group and LB is a Lewis base, is reacted with a liquid medium comprising a Ti compound having at least a Ti-Cl bond in an amount such that the Ti/Mg molar ratio is higher than 3; said process being characterized by the fact that in at least one of said steps (a) a Bi compound is dissolved or dispersed in said liquid medium comprising the titanium compound.

A multilayer film is characterized by having at least a skin layer comprising a propylene -- ethylene copolymers characterized by the following features: ethylene derived units content of between 1.0 wt% and 15.0% wt%; molecular weight distribution (MWD), expressed in terms of Mw/Mn, greater than 4.0; - the content of xylene soluble fraction (XS) and the ethylene derived units content (C2) fulfill the following relation: XS 0.435C2 where XS is the percentage by weight of the fraction soluble in xylene at 25°C and C2 is the percentage by weight of ethylene units in the said copolymers determined via NMR.
