    Abstract: A partially crosslinked polymer composition having a melt flow index of from 0.1 to 50 g/10 min at 230 DEG C. under a weight of 2.16 kg and comprising a) a polymer comprising from 25 to 95% by weight of polypropylene and 5 to 75% by weight of a propylene copolymer with copolymerized C2-C10-alk-1-enes, the comonomer content being from 1 to 45% by weight, based on the total polymer, b) an organosilane compound of the formula (I) A4-nSiRn(i) where A are identical or different acrylates or methacrylates or vinyl groups, R are identical or different C1-C8-alkoxy or C1-C8-acetoxy groups, and n is 1, 2 or 3, obtainable by reacting the polymer a) with the organosilane compound b) in the presence of a free-radical initiator and in the presence of a condensation catalyst at from 180 DEG to 280 DEG C., and at from 1 to 100 bar and at a mean residence time of the reaction mixture of from 0.2 to 10 minutes, has, in particular, high notched impact strength, increased puncture resistance and improved weld line strength.

    Abstract: The invention relates to the preparation of a titanium component (1) for Ziegler-Natta catalyst systems, in which first (1.a) an intermediate is prepared from (1.a.1) titanium tetrachloride, (1.a.2) a modifier and (1.a.3) magnesium alkoxide, and then (1.b) the titanium component is prepared from (1.b.1) titanium tetrachloride, (1.b.2) the intermediate from (1.a) and optionally (1.b.3) a further modifier, characterised in that the titanium component (1) is obtained by first (1.1) preparing a first intermediate from (1.1.1) titanium tetrachloride, (1.1.2) a modifier comprising (1.1.2.1) a titanic ester and (1.1.2.2) p-phthalic anhydride and (1.1.3) magnesium alkoxide, then (1.2) a second intermediate is prepared from (1.2.1) titanium tetrachloride, (1.2.2) the intermediate from (1.1) and optionally (1.2.3) o-phthalic anhydride as further modifier, and finally (1.3) the titanium component is prepared from (1.3.1) titanium tetrachloride and (1.3.2) the intermediate from (1.2).

    Abstract: Propylene-ethylene copolymers obtainable by two-step polymerisation from the gas phase in an agitated fixed bed by means of a Ziegler-Natta catalyst system containing an aluminium compound as cocatalyst in addition to a titanium-containing solid component, in which, in a first polymerisation step, propylene is polymerised at a pressure of from 20 to 40 bar, a temperature of from 60 to 90 DEG C and a mean residence time of the reaction mixture of from 1 to 5 hours, giving from 0.05 to 2 kg of polypropylene per mmol of the aluminium compound, and subsequently, in a second polymerisation step, a mixture of propylene and ethylene is polymerised onto the polymer discharged from the first polymerisation step, at a pressure of from 5 to 30 bar, this pressure being at least 7 bar below the pressure in the first polymerisation step, a temperature of from 30 to 100 DEG C and a mean residence time of the reaction mixture of from 1 to 5 hours, the ratio between the partial pressures of propylene and ethylene being set in the range from 0.5 : 1 to 5 : 1, and a) the weight ratio between the monomers reacted in the first and second polymerisation steps is set so that it is in the range from 2.5 : 1 to 20 : 1, or b) the polymerisation in the second polymerisation step is carried out in the presence of a C1-C8 alkanol, the weight ratio between the monomers reacted in the first and the second polymerisation steps being from 1 : 1 to 20 : 1. s
