Abstract:
The present invention is related to a fuel composition for colored flames and an appropriate combustion device for using such composition which provides a fuel composition for colored flames with improved inflammability, realization of colored flames and persistency by having alcohol of low ignition point as a fuel, by adding a compound having an ester structure and by adding a fire power enhancer including at least 3 higher hydrocarbon. Also, the present invention provides a combustion device wherein the fuel composition is injected in fog so as to enhance ignition power when rendering colored flames by injecting through an injection nozzle and igniting, the size of flames can be controlled by adjusting pressure, and color of the flames injected through each injection nozzle portion can be realized in different colors respectively by a control device.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a fuel composition comprising a fuel and a film-forming additive wherein the fuel comprises diesel and a fuel alcohol and wherein the film-forming additive is present in the fuel composition in an amount of less than 0.1 wt %.
Abstract:
The invention relates to the use of an emulsified fuel in combination with an engine oil that shows a synergistic effect in reducing emissions such as particulate matter, hydrocarbons and/or nitrogen oxides (NO, NO2, N2O, collectively NOx) and/or reducing wear from an engine.
Abstract:
A method for reducing the formation of combustion chamber deposits in an engine using a friction modifier for combustible fuels is provided. The friction modifier is prepared by combining a saturated carboxylic acid and an alkylated or alkoxylated amine. The particular selection of friction modifier enables a stable additive concentrate to be formulated providing a significant decrease in CCD without increasing the incidence of IVD deposits in combustion engines running on a fuel modified with the additive concentrate.
Abstract:
The present invention provides functional fluid compositions containing a major portion of oil of lubricating viscosity and a novel and synergistic combination of an acylated nitrogen-containing compound having an olefinic substituent averaging in carbon number from 20 to 60 and at least one ashless detergent/dispersant.
Abstract:
A fuel additive comprising a urethane compound. A gasoline composition comprising gasoline blended with a urethane compound to suppress sludge or deposits in fuel intake systems or combustion chambers, such as an automobile engine.
Abstract:
A fuel composition for internal combustion engines, and more particularly, a fuel composition for internal combustion engines containing less than about 0.5 gram of lead per gallon of fuel is described. The fuel provides acceptable valve seat protection in engines designed to operate on leaded fuels. A further aspect of the invention is to reduce deposit formation within the cylinders.
Abstract:
Coking in and around the injector nozzles of indirect injection compression ignition engines is reduced by means of distillate fuel with which has been blended suitable concentrations of:(a) organic nitrate ignition accelerator,(b) hydrocarbyl amine having from 3 to 60 carbons and from 1 to 10 nitrogens, and(c) N,N'-disalicylidene-1,2-diaminopropane.Also described are additive mixtures of (a), (b), and (c) for use in distillate fuels in amounts sufficient to reduce the coking tendencies of such fuels when used in the operation of indirect injection compression ignition engines.
Abstract:
Coking in and around the injector nozzle of indirect injection compression ignition engines is reduced by means of distillate fuel with which has been blended suitable concentrations of(a) organic nitrate ignition accelerator,(b) copolymer of an alpha-olefin having from 8 to 30 carbon and an N-substituted maleimide wherein the N-substituents are organic radicals having from 3 to 60 carbons and from 1 to 5 amine nitrogens, said copolymer having from 4 to 20 repeating olefin-maleimide units, and(c) hydrocarbyl amine having from 3 to 60 carbons and from 1 to 10 nitrogens.
