    Abstract: A method for separating insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1) from mammalian milk of the present invention comprises the steps of: a) separating the mammalian milk into whey and casein; b) recovering fractions containing a large amount of IGF-1; c) separating the fractions containing a large amount of materials corresponding to a molecular weight of the IGF-1 by using ion exchange chromatography; d) separating the fractions containing a large amount of IGF-1 by using gel filtration chromatography; and e) recovering the fractions with 7000-13000 Da or less by passing the fractions containing a large amount of the IGF-1 through a membrane with 7000-13000 Da, and then recovering the IGF-1 by concentrating using a membrane with 700-1300 Da.
