    Abstract: An emergency operation method in switch malfunction of a DC/DC converter is provided to perform the emergency operation of a LDC(Low-voltage DC Converter) by using a pair of switches of steady- state among four switches in switch open trouble. A controller delivers signals for switch fault diagnostics to a switch trouble detector in the abnormal operation of a LDC(ST1). According to the signal of the controller, the switch trouble detector authorizes PWM(Pulse Width Modulation) signal for checkup in a switch(ST2). The switch trouble detector makes the diagnosis of malfunction and type of the switch based on the current value detected from a current sensor connected to a switching unit input terminal. When one or two between a pair of switches among four switches operating to a pair are in open trouble and a remaindering pair of switches are steady, the PWM signal for drive is applied at the two steady switches(ST8). The emergency operation of the LDC is performed by on/OFF operation of the two steady switches.
