    Abstract: A reactor (1) having a vertical longitudinal axis and an inlet (2) for a liquid or liquid/solid feed stream in the upper region of the reactor and an inlet (3) for a gaseous stream in the lower region of the reactor (1), characterized by at least two chambers (4) arranged above one another in the longitudinal direction, where the chambers (4) are separated from one another by liquid-tight bottom plates, each chamber is connected via a liquid overflow (6) to the chamber (4) located immediately underneath and a liquid product stream is taken off via the liquid overflow (6) of the bottommost chamber (4), the gas space (7) above the liquid surface in each chamber (4) is connected to the chamber (4) located immediately above it by one or more guide tubes (8) which opens (each open) into a gas distributor (9) provided with openings for exit of gas below the liquid surface, and each chamber is provided with at least one guide plate (12) which is arranged vertically around each siphon like gas distributor (9) and whose upper end is below the liquid surface and whose lower end is above the liquid-tight bottom plate (5) of the chamber (4) and which divides each chamber (4) into one or more spaces into which gas flows (13) and one or more spaces into which gas does not flow (14), is used for gas/liquid or gas/liquid/solid reactions.

    Abstract: The preparation of alkylaryl compounds takes place by a) reaction of a C 4 /C 5 -olefin mixture over a metathesis catalyst to prepare a C 4-8 -olefin mixture comprising 2-pentene, and optional removal of the C 4-8 -olefin mixture, b) removal of from 5 to 100% of the 2-pentene present in stage a) and subsequent reaction over an isomerization catalyst to give a mixture of 2-pentene and 1-pentene which is returned to stage a), c) dimerization of the C 4-8 -olefin mixture obtained in stage b) following removal in the presence of a dimerization catalyst to give a mixture containing C 8-16 -olefins, removal of these C 8-16 -olefins and optional removal of a partial stream thereof, d) reaction of the c 8-16 -olefin mixtures obtained in stage c) or of the partial stream with an aromatic hydrocarbon in the presence of an alkylation catalyst to form alkyl aromatic compounds where, prior to the reaction, 0 to 60% by weight, based on the c 8-16 -olefin mixtures obtained in stage c), of linear olefins may additionally be added, e) optional sulfonation of the alkyl aromatic compounds obtained in stage d) and neutralization to give alkylarylsulfonates, where, prior to the sulfonation, 0 to 60% by weight, based on the alkyl aromatic compounds obtained in stage d), of linear alkylbenzenes may additionally be added if no admixing has taken place in stage d), f) optional mixing of the alkylarylsulfonates obtained in stage e) with 0 to 60% by weight, based on the alkylarylsulfonates obtained in stage e), of linear alkylarylsulfonate, if no admixing has taken place in stages d) and e).

    Abstract: The invention relates to a method for producing alkylaryl compounds, by reacting a C10-14 monoolefin mixture with an aromatic hydrocarbon, in the presence of an alkylation catalyst to give alkylaromatic compounds and, optionally, by subsequent sulphonation and neutralisation of the obtained alkylaryl compounds. Said method is characterised in that, on average, in sa id C10-14 monoolefins, more than 0% and up to 100% of methyl branches are locat ed in the longest carbon chain and less than 50% of the methyl branches are located at the 2-, 3- and 4-position, counting from the ends of the longest carbon chain.

    Abstract: The invention relates to a reactor (1) for gas/liquid or gas/liquid/solid reactions comprising a vertical longitudinal axis, a feed inlet (2) for a liquid or liquid/solid educt stream in the upper area of the reactor and for a gaseous steam (3) in the lower area of the reactor (1). The reactor also comprises at least two chambers (4) that are arranged one above the other in the longitudinal direction, whereby the chambers (4) are separated from one another by liquid-tight bottoms. Each chamber is connected to the chamber (4) located directly underneath by a liquid overflow (6), and a liquid product stream is withdrawn via the liquid overflow (6) of the lowermost chamber (4). The gas space (7) above the liquid level in each chamber (4) is connected to the chamber (4) directly located thereabove by one or more gas feed pipes (8) each of which discharging into a gas distributor (9) with openings for discharging gas underneath the liquid level. The reactor also comprises at least one baffle plate (12), which is vertically arranged around each gas distributor (9) and whose upper end terminates underneath the liquid level and whose lower end terminates above the liquid-tight bottom (5) of the chamber (4). In addition, the baffle plate divides each chamber (4) into one or more gassed (13) spaces and into one or more ungassed (14) spaces.

    Abstract: A reactor (1) of high cylindrical construction for continuously carrying out gas-liquid, liquid-liquid or gas-liquid-solid reactions, provided with a downward-directed jet nozzle (2) via which the starting materials and the reaction mixture are fed in and which is located in the upper region of the reactor, and provided with an offtake (3), preferably in the lower region of the reactor, via which the reaction mixture is conveyed via an external circuit back to the jet nozzle (2) by means of a pump (P), wherein a guide tube (4) which extends essentially over the total length of the reactor (1) with the exception of the reactor ends and has a cross-sectional area in the range from one tenth to one half of the cross-sectional area of the reactor (1) is located concentrically in the reactor (1), and the jet nozzle (2) is located above the upper end of the guide tube (4), preferably at a distance of from one eighth of the guide tube diameter to one guide tube diameter, or projects into the guide tube (4) to a depth up to a plurality of guide tube diameters is proposed. A heat exchanger, in particular a heat exchanger having heat exchange tubes (6), preferably running parallel to the guide tube, welded in between plates (5), is integrated into the annular space.
