An apparatus for nucleic acid sequencing includes a nanochannel (10) and a conveying device (5), configured to move a nucleic acid strand (F) through the nanochannel (10). The conveying device (5) includes: a first electrode (15), a second electrode (16), and a third electrode (17), which are arranged along the nanochannel (10) so as to be in contact with a fluid occupying the nanochannel (10), the second electrode (16) being arranged between the first electrode (15) and the third electrode (17); and a control unit (20) configured to apply a first voltage (V 1 ), a second voltage (V 2 ), and a third voltage (V 3 ), respectively, to the first electrode (15), the second electrode (16) and the third electrode (17), so as to control movement of the nucleic acid strand (F) through the nanochannel (10).
Abstract:
A monitoring device is for at least one physical characteristic of a building material. the monitoring device is buried inside a block of the building material and has a sensor to sense a physical characteristic thereof. The monitoring device includes a secondary inductor and a circuit coupled thereto, the circuit to generate an internal supply voltage for the sensor to transmit a signal representative of the physical characteristic. A wireless power supplier for the sensor is configured to generate a variable electromagnetic field, and has a dielectric layer and a resonant L-C circuit buried therein. The resonant L-C circuit has a primary inductor to be magnetically coupled to the secondary inductor of the sensor, with the wireless power supplier further having two current terminals being coupleable to an external reading circuit for the signal. The sensor is adjacent to the dielectric layer so as to magnetically couple the primary inductor and the secondary inductor.

A package comprising a first die; a second die; an interface connecting said first die and said second die, at least one of said first and second dies comprising a memory, said interface being configured to transport both control signals and memory transactions; and multiplexing means for multiplexing said control signals and said memory transactions onto said interface such that a plurality of connections of said interface are shared by said control signals and said memory transactions.
