Abstract: PURPOSE: A relief valve for an oil pump is provided to prevent damages of a main gallery by lowering a peak pressure value through a fast flow of a bypass. CONSTITUTION: A relief valve for an oil pump comprises a plunger(2), a coil spring(7), and a locator(8). The plunger divides a relief space of an oil pump into a housing chamber and a plunger chamber. The housing chamber is connected to a main gallery. The plunger chamber is connected to an outlet port of the oil pump discharging oil to a main gallery. The plunger chamber bypasses a part of the oil discharged to the main gallery. The coil spring has elasticity modulus compressed in the oil pressure of the main gallery, which is relatively lower than a warm-up state of an engine. The coil spring supports the plunger. The locator supports the coil spring in order that the elasticity modulus is variable by a change of a bearing surface of the coil spring.

Abstract: PURPOSE: Cam carrier assembly is provided to enable lubricating oil to be stably supplied to an actuator shaft since a lubricating path is formed to supply the lubricating oil to the actuator shaft. CONSTITUTION: Cam carrier assembly comprises a cam carrier(10), an actuator shaft(30), a support(20) and a cap(40). A lubricating path is formed in the cam carrier. The actuator shaft is mounted on the cam carrier and rotates to adjust the lift of a valve. The support is formed integrally with the cam carrier and surrounds a part of the actuator shaft. The cap surrounds the remaining part the actuator shaft, which is not surrounded by the support.

Abstract: A skewed type cylinder head is provided to maintain flow speed of cooling water and improve cooling efficiency in a bottom water jacket by forming a water line around a long intake port and a short intake port and reinforce stiffness around a long intake port by connecting each center of a long intake port, a short intake port and an injector hole as a triangular single body in a top water jacket. A skewed type cylinder head(1) comprises an intake port and an exhaust port arranged like arrangement of rhomboid and a water jacket, formed inside the intake port and the exhaust port, through which cooling water circulates. The water jacket includes a bottom water jacket(J1) formed on the lower part on a combustion chamber and a top water jacket connected to the bottom water jacket through a connector at the upper part of the bottom water jacket. In the bottom water jacket, a long intake port(LP1) at an intake port and a peripheral part of a short intake port(SP1) are connected to a water line. In the top water jacket, a water line around the long intake port, the short intake port, and an injector hole(H) is removed and each center of the long intake port, the short intake port, and the injector hole is connected as a triangular single body and is formed as single cylinder head structure(5).

Abstract: PURPOSE: A connecting structure between a cylinder head and a cam cap of a DOHC(Double OverHead Camshaft) engine is provided to enhance the processing of an oil feed passage for feeding oil to a camshaft and to improve assembling properties between a cylinder head and a cam cap. CONSTITUTION: Each couple of semicircular holes(16A,16B,18A,18B) are formed at a cylinder head(12) and a cam cap(14) to accept double camshaft. The double camshaft is mounted on the cylinder head, and the cylinder head is connected with the cam cap by connecting bolts(20). Herein, the cam cap is simply assembled by the three bolts without using a dowel pin for fixing the side. The cylinder head has a first oil passage(24) on a connecting face(P1) with the cam cap from an oil hole(22) while the cam cap has a second oil passage(26) to the semicircular hole(18A,18B) from a connecting face(P2) with the cylinder head. Oil is supplied to the oil hole of the cylinder head via a cylinder block from an oil tank under an engine. The oil is fed to the camshaft through the first oil passage, a first bypass pipe(26A), a second bypass pipe(26B), and a third and a fourth bypass pipe(26C,26D) sequentially.
