Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject polymer capable of exhibiting the excellent ratio of modulus of elasticity/impact strength and high transparency, useful for a film, a fiber, etc., by mixing a specific isotactic propene copolymer with a prescribed propene (co)polymer in a specified ratio. SOLUTION: This propene polymer comprises (A) 50-99.9 wt.% of an isotactic propene copolymer and (B) 0.1-50 wt.% of a propene (co)polymer in which the component A is composed of propene, ethene and a 1-42C olefin (M), >=80 wt.% of the whole propene 2 unit chains is isotactic meso 2 unit chains (L), relations of equation I [X3 is the ratio of a dissolved substance in xylene at 20 deg.C; Tm is a melting point ( deg.C)] and equation II (E is a modulus of elasticity) are satisfied, the component B is composed of propene and arbitrarily ethene or the monomer M, >=55 wt.% of the whole regio-regular propene 2 unit chains is the chains L, a melt enthalpy measured by DSC is

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce the subject polymer having a narrow mol.wt. distribution in a state capable of being performed in an industrial scale by carrying out the polymerization in the presence of a specific catalyst composition. SOLUTION: This method for producing an alkene-1 polymer comprises polymerizing an alkene-1 at a temperature of -50 to 300 deg.C in a pressure of 0.5-3000 bars in the presence of a catalyst composition comprising (A) an inorganic or organic carrier, (B) a metallocene complex, (C) a compound forming an metallocene ion and, if necessary, (D) a metal compound of the formula [M is an alkali(ne earth) metal, a metal belonging to the group III main elements in the periodic table; R is H, a 1-10C alkyl, a 6-15C aryl, an alkylaryl; R , R are each H, a halogen, a 1-10C alkyl, a 6-15C aryl, etc.; (r) is 1-3; (s) and (t) are each 0, 2, wherein (r)+(s)+(t) corresponds to the atomic valency of M ] and (E) an antistatic agent. The alkene-1 preferably comprises 50-100mol.% of propene, 0-50mol.% of ethylene and 0-20mol.% of a 4-12C alkene-1.

Abstract: A process for the preparation of multiphase homopolymers or copolymers of C2-C10-alk-1-enes, characterised in that the polymerisation is carried out in one reaction zone in the presence of two different catalyst systems, where one of the catalyst systems contains, as active constituents, a metallocene complex of the formula (I) or (II) in which M is a metal from group IVb, Vb or VIb of the Periodic Table, R and R are identical or different and are a hydrogen atom, a C1-C10-alkyl group, a C1-C10-alkoxy group, a C6-C10-aryl group, a C6-C10-aryloxy group, a C2-C10-alkenyl group, a C7-C40-arylalkyl group, a C7-C40-alkylaryl group, a C8-C40 arylalkenyl group or a halogen atom, R and R are identical or different and are a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, a C1-C10-alkyl group, which may be halogenated, a C6-C10-aryl group, an -NR 2, -SR , -OSiR 3, - SiR 3 or -PR 2 radical, in which R is a halogen atom, a C1-C10-alkyl group or a C6-C10-aryl group, and R and R are identical or different and are as defined for R and R with the proviso that R and R are not hydrogen.

Abstract: A catalyst systems for the polymerisation of 2-12C alk-1-enes comprises: (A) an inorganic oxide carrier with a pH of 1-6 which comprises 5-30 vol.% voids and channels; (B) at least one metallocene complex; (C) at least one metallocenium ion-forming compound; and optionally (D) at least one alkali(ne earth) or Group III metal organic compound. Also claimed are (i) the preparation of 2-12C alk-1-ene polymers at -50 to +300 deg.C and 0.5-3000 bar using these catalyst systems, (ii) 2-12C alk-1-ene polymers prepared by this method, (iii) the use of these polymers for the preparation of fibres, films or moulded articles and (iv) fibres, films or moulded articles made from these polymers.

Abstract: A method for the preparation of 2-12C alpha-olefin polymers at -50 to +300 degrees C and 0.5-3000 bar in the presence of a catalyst system - uses a catalyst that contains the following components :(A) an (in)organic carrier ; (B) a metallocene complex ; (C) a metallocenium ion-forming compound ; and (D) optionally a metal compound of formula (I). M )r(R )s(R )t (I) M = alkali(ne earth) or Group III metal ; R = H, 1-10C alkyl, 6-15C aryl, 1-10C alkyl-(6-20C)-aryl or 6-20C aryl-(1-10C)-alkyl ; R , R = H, halogen, 1-10C alkyl, 6-15C aryl, 1-10C alkyl-(6-20C)-aryl, 6-20C aryl-(1-10C)-alkyl or 1-10C alkoxy ; r = 1-3 ; and s, t = 0-2, with the provision that the sum of r-t is equal to the valency of M . An anti-static agent is also used with the catalyst.
