Abstract: Unique polymers and copolymers generated via oMLD processes are described alongside the methods for tuning such polymer and copolymer structures and redox chemistries. The polymers and copolymers described can incorporate monomeric species previously held to have too high an oxidation potential for successful use in oMLD, can exhibit unexpected redox chemistry from the adjustable incorporation of primary amine monomers and resulting azo functional groups, and show superior performance metrics when compared to polymers and copolymers synthesized by other methods. Applications for these polymers and copolymers are also described.

Abstract: The invention relates to an apparatus for the visualisation of a print on an object, the apparatus comprising: a base comprising a heating element in thermal communication with a receptacle for storing an agent, a housing to provide a sealed chamber; and a port for applying a vacuum to, or releasing a vacuum from, the sealed chamber. The invention is particularly for the visualisation of a fingerprint such as a latent fingerprint. The invention also relates to a system incorporating the apparatus with a cartridge and agent, and associated methods and uses for visualising a print on an object.

Abstract: Precursor solutions for radiation patternable coatings are formed with an organic solvent and monoalkyl tin trialkoxides in which the water content of the solvent is adjusted to be within 10 percent of a selected value. Generally, the water content of the solvent is adjusted through water addition, although water removal can also be used. In some embodiments, the adjusted water content of the solvent can be from about 250 ppm by weight to about 10,000 ppm by weight. With the appropriate selection of ligands, the adjusted precursor solutions can be stable for at least about 42 days, and in some cases at least 8 months.

Abstract: A method for preparing a transparent fluorine-free, super-lubricating and oil-proof coating includes: dissolving a sulfhydryl compound, a styrene copolymer, a low surface energy component, and a photoinitiator in an organic solvent, conducting a uniform stirring to obtain a mixture, coating the mixture onto a substrate, and conducting a curing under an ultraviolet lamp to obtain the transparent fluorine-free, super-lubricating and oil-proof coating. The coating has excellent adhesion resistance to various organic solvents with low surface tension and even liquids with high viscosity, and has excellent chemical stability and mechanical durability. The coating can be applied to various substrates such as glass, an aluminum sheet, a steel sheet, and a polymer without limitations of a use environment, maintains excellent adhesion resistance in the environment of air, oil, and water, and has wide applicability. Moreover, according to the method, various ways such as spraying, dip-coating and spin-coating can be used.
