Abstract:
The present invention provides an aqueous coating agent including a vinyl polymer (A) having a basic nitrogen atom-containing group and a carboxylic group, a quaternary ammonium salt (B), and an aqueous medium (C). Particularly, the present invention provides an aqueous coating agent including a compound represented by General Formula (1) below as the quaternary ammonium salt (B). The aqueous coating agent has excellent adhesiveness, warm water resistance, corrosion resistance, and chemical resistance, and can form a film that is capable of preventing the deterioration of various substrates. In General Formula (1), R1 to R4 each independently represent an alkyl group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms or an aryl group.

A structural member includes a simulated surface appearance. The structural member includes a substrate, plural intermediate layers, and a top coat. The plural intermediate layers are applied over at least one surface of the substrate, with at least some of the plural intermediate layers configured to cooperate with each other to provide a simulated appearance for the structural member. The top coat is applied outward of the plural intermediate layers. The top coat is relatively thin and is configured for use with exterior applications. The top coat includes a base configured for UV resistance and an additive configured to provide abrasion resistance.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a panel, in particular a wall-, ceiling or floor-panel, comprising a carrier layer (71) with a front side and a rear side, wherein the carrier layer (71) comprises at least at its front side as seen from the front side the following layers: a primer layer (72); a decor layer (73), comprising a polymerizable print color; and a polymer layer (74), which preferably comprises a hardness gradient.
Abstract:
An object of the invention is to provide an optical film having thermochromic properties capable of regulating the near-infrared shield factor depending on the temperature environment, having a low haze value, and having excellent cracking resistance and adhesiveness even if put to use for an extended period of time, and a method for manufacturing the optical film. The optical film of the invention includes, on a transparent substrate, an optically functional layer containing at least vanadium dioxide-containing fine particles and a binder resin, wherein the number average particle size of all the particles including primary particles and secondary particles of the vanadium dioxide-containing fine particles in the optically functional layer is less than 200 nm.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a process for producing high-gloss surfaces on at least one portion of a substrate area, where the steps comprise (a) applying a layer made of a melt to at least one portion of the substrate area; (b) polishing of the applied layer of melt; (c) applying at least one lacquer layer to the polished layer of melt by means of a curtain-coating process; and (d) hardening the layer structure applied. The invention further relates to articles obtainable by this type of process.
