Abstract:
The disclosure relates to a method for finishing a wood board with an upper face and a lower face, having the following steps: a) applying a undercoat made of a liquid melamine resin onto the upper face, the melamine resin at least partly penetrating into the upper edge layer of the wood board, b) drying the undercoat into an undercoat layer, c) applying a base color onto the undercoat layer, d) drying the base color into a base color layer, e) applying a base color onto the base color layer in order to produce a decorative element, f) drying the decorative element into a decorative layer, g) applying a liquid melamine resin onto the dried decorative layer, h) drying the melamine resin into a melamine resin layer, and i) applying a liquid medium with a proportion of isocyanate.
Abstract:
A method is disclosed for the application of a coating for protection of a wooden structure. The method includes the steps of grinding used tired into a crumb followed by making a slurry from the crumb containing one or more additives or agents. The slurry is applied in a single coating to the wooden structure and permitted to dry. The coating encloses the wooden structure and is configured to act as a barrier to natural elements to prevent rot and insect damage.
Abstract:
The invention includes a method for preparing and top coating an item made of powder coated MDF (or other substrate containing wood) with the end result of improved visual and tactile smoothness; the invention includes the steps of cutting and machining the part, pre-powder preparation and sanding of the part, powder coating the part, post-powder preparation and sanding, and applying the liquid top coat to the part, resulting in a smoother finish than is currently available in any other powder coated MDF finish while requiring less coats than similar liquid paint finishes.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to aqueous polyurethane dispersions that are curable with UV radiation, to a process for preparing them, and to the use thereof.
Abstract:
There is provided a method for sanifying/sterilizing cork stoppers, from the least expensive provided with an agglomerated body and washers to the finest made of high quality natural cork, used in bottle capping, and the cork stoppers thereby produced. The method includes applying a film having a reticulated structure with cells smaller than the cork cells of the stopper on the surface of the cork cells and on the outer surface of the stopper.
Abstract:
Methods for treating various substrates to impart unique and artistic finishes thereto, comprising the application of a plurality of separate pigmented curable liquid compositions thereto. In some embodiments the pigmented curable liquid compositions are applied in such fashion to preclude formation of a homogeneous pigmented mixture. In some embodiments this is achieved by applying a second pigmented curable liquid composition over a first pigmented curable liquid composition prior to the full cure of the former. In other embodiments, this is achieved by simultaneous application of two pigmented curable liquid compositions which are non-homogeneous.
Abstract:
The present invention has to do with a method and system for coating and curing engineered wood products (EWP) in general, and the edges of EWPs in particular. One method for coating and curing medium density fiberboard (MDF) and other engineered wood laminates using coatings is provided.
Abstract:
A process for manufacturing a coated panel. The process can comprise providing a panel of a desired dimension or cutting a panel to a desired dimension. In some embodiments a panel can be provided with joining functionality. A surface of the panel can be coated with a powder and the powder cured to thereby treat a surface of the panel.
Abstract:
A method for producing panels and a panel produced according to the method is provided. The method includes the following steps: a) providing a large-format, press blank particle board made of wood material including a press skin created during production at least on the top side thereof; b) grinding off a part of the press skin from the top side of the particle board; c) applying a base coat made of a liquid melamine-based resin to the top side of the particle board, wherein the resin diffuses at least partially into the top edge layer of the particle board, and at least penetrates and treats the remaining area of the press skin; d) drying the base coat; e) applying a primer over the base coat; f) drying the primer; g) applying at least one water-based paint enriched by pigments for generating a decoration; h) drying the decoration; i) applying a seal made of at least one melamine-based resin enriched with wear-resistant particles and cellulose fibers; j) drying the seal; k) applying a base coast made of a liquid melamine-based resin to the bottom side of the particle board, wherein the resin diffuses at least partially into the bottom edge layer of the particle board; l) drying the base coat; m) applying a counterpart to the bottom of the particle board; n) pressing the layer construction under the effect of pressure and temperature; o) cutting the particle board into panels of the desired width and length; p) applying binding agents and locking elements to opposite side edges for binding and locking a plurality of panels into a floating laid composite floor.
Abstract:
There are provided processes for manufacturing trim boards. The processes can comprise applying a thin layer comprising an alkyd based primer sealer on at least one surface of the trim board; heat drying the thin layer so as to at least partially cure the thin layer comprising the alkyd based primer sealer; cooling the at least one surface; and applying a thin layer comprising a sealer on the thin layer comprising the alkyd based primer sealer. There are also provided methods for reducing and/or preventing migration of tannins in pine wood.
