Abstract: A cooler for a DC/DC converter is provided to minimize heat quantity by using a heat sink and the air by inputting the cooling wind into the case through a cooling channel connected to the heat sink. A heat radiation fin(21) is installed in a horizontal direction. An inlet and an outlet are formed in both ends of the heat radiation fin. A cooling fan(24) is installed in the outlet side of the heat radiation fin and induces a cooling wind from an inlet to an outlet. A heat sink(20) is installed in the bottom of the heat radiation fin. A power module for the DC/DC converter is attached to the bottom of the heat sink. A case(23) is installed in the bottom of the heat radiation fin to block the power module from the external air. A cooling channel(25a,25b) is slantingly formed in both sides of the heat sink to connect the cooling wind of the heat radiation fin into the inner side of a case. An overall surface of the power module is exposed to the cooling wind inputted to the inner side of the case.

Abstract: A switching control system for a DC-DC converting apparatus is provided to decrease a size and a weight of the DC-DC converting apparatus, to improve durability of a switch, and to enhance fuel efficiency through enhancing power conversion efficiency. If connection of a recharging connector (recharging stand) is detected, an initial activation of a controller is performed, and a DC link is pre-recharged. If the DC link is pre-recharged to a voltage higher than or equal to a predetermined voltage, an exterior AC or DC electricity is supplied to the battery so as to recharge the battery according to the present invention.

Abstract: PURPOSE: A charging system for hybrid vehicle is provided to charges battery from an external power supply by using motors and inverters, without the separate battery charger of high cost. CONSTITUTION: A charging system for plug-in hybrid vehicle comprises: a battery(106) in which direct current voltage is saved; a first motor(101) operated by an electric motor or a generator; a second motor(102) operated by an electric motor or a generator; a first inverter(103) for driving the first motor; a second inverter(104) for driving the second motor; a voltage converter(105) supplying direct voltage from the battery to the first and the second inverter with increasing or decreasing voltage, and supplying direct voltage from the first and the second inverter to the battery with increasing or decreasing voltage; a first and a second diode(107), of which cathode terminal is connected to a commercial electricity, and is parallel-connected with the neutral point of the first and the second motors, of which anode terminal is connected to the DC negative electrode terminal of the first and the second inverters; and a charging controller(200). The charge controller: prevents the electrical connection of eternal AC or DC power to the neutral point of the first and the second motor before the initialization of controllers, through the operation of the initial activation of the controllers including the charge controller, if the off-sate of the charging relay, in case of detecting the connection of the charge controller; charges voltage to a DC link capacitor, by controlling IGBT of voltage converter in the off-state of the first and the second inverters, and then connecting the electric energy of the battery to the DC link capacitor of the fist and the second inverter; and prevents the initial inrushing current, when connecting external voltage source and the neutral point of the first and the second motor.

Abstract: PURPOSE: A method for controlling an output voltage of a DC-DC converter for a hybrid vehicle is provided to increase an output voltage of the DC-DC converter when the temperature of external air is low, thereby increasing charging performance of a sub battery. CONSTITUTION: If the starting of a vehicle is turned on, it is determined whether the temperature(Tx) of external air is lower than a boundary temperature(Tx1). If the temperature of external air is higher than the boundary temperature, a DC-DC converter normally operates. If the temperature of external air is lower than the boundary temperature, a voltage of an output terminal or a sub battery of the DC-DC converter is measured to select a driving mode of the vehicle. If a voltage of the output terminal of the DC-DC converter or a voltage of a 12V sub battery is lower than a fixed voltage, the vehicle operates in a strong charging mode. If a voltage of the output terminal of the DC-DC converter or a voltage of the 12V sub battery is higher than a fixed voltage, the vehicle operates in a weak charging mode.
