    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an agent for improvement of the slackness and tightening of skin containing a substance capable of promoting the expression of an integrin in a human dermal cell as an active ingredient and having effects on the slackness and loss of tensity of the skin. SOLUTION: This agent for improvement of the slackness and tightening of skin contains a substance promoting the expression of an integrin (preferably one or more kinds of plants selected from the group consisting of Arctium lappa L., Rosmarinus officinalis, Actinidia chinensis, Pachyma hoelen Rumph., Daucus carota L. and Lysimachia sikokiana Miquel or their extracts) in a human dermal cell (preferably a human dermal fibroblast) as an active ingredient. The integrin is preferably integrin α2β1. An organic solvent (e.g. ethanol or propanol) or a mixture of water with the organic solvent is preferred as a solvent used for the extraction. The plant extract is prepared by adding the solvent to, e.g. a technical product, a dried substance or a dried and pulverized substance and performing the extraction at preferably at 3-70 deg.C for 1-15 days. The content of the plant or extract is preferably 0.0001-3 wt.%.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a wrinkles improver containing a guanidine derivative having a specific structure or its acid addition salt as an active ingredient, capable of suppressing occurrence of wrinkles without impairing normal skin physiology and excellent in effect for eliminating wrinkles and having good feeling to users. SOLUTION: This wrinkles improver is obtained by using a guanidine derivative of formula I [A and B are each a 2-8C alkylene; D is a direct bond or a 1-6C alkylene; E is H, an alkyl, an aralkyl or an aryl; (m) is 1-6; (n) is 0-6; R is H, an alkyl or (AO)m (BO)n -D-E] or formula II [(k) is 1-10; G is H, OH, COOH, sulfonic acid or phosphoric acid] or its acid addition salt. The wrinkles improver is useful as a cosmetic for preventing aging. The content of the active ingredient is preferably 0.001-50wt.%. An organic acid or its ester in an amount of 0.001-30wt.% is preferably further added to the system. A dicarboxylic acid is preferably used as the organic acid. The compound of formula I is obtained by reacting, e.g. a compound of formula III with a guanidination reagent.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: To obtain the subject agent containing an extract of Hamamelisvirginiana L. as an active component, excellent in suppressing activity against wrinkles of the skin formed by the irradiation of ultraviolet and useful as a skin external agent for preventing wrinkles. CONSTITUTION: This agent contains an extract of Hamamelisvirginiana L. as an active component preferably in a content of 0.001-5wt.% in terms of a dry solid material. The extract is preferably obtained by adding 100g of dry crashed material of Hamamelisvirginiana L. with 1000ml of 50v/v% ethanol aqueous solution, extracting it for 3 days at room temperature while it is stirred at intervals, subsequently filtering the extraction mixture, allowing the filtrate to stand at 5 deg.C for 3days and filtering this solution again to obtain a clear filtrate. Further, the above wrinkle-suppressing agent is preferably incorporated with a component selected from an anti-inflammatory agent such as glycyrrhizic acid, an extract of one of various kinds of plants other than Hamamelisvirginiana L., a singlet oxygen-removing agent and an antioxidant since this enhances the wrinkle-suppressing effect.
