Abstract: Compositions and processes are disclosed for forming hydrophobic coatings and lubricant-infused surface coatings. Coatings may be applied to various substrates without prior chemical or temperature treatment of the substrates and over large and irregular surfaces. Abstract: A method for printing on a low surface energy substrate. The low surface energy substrates may be flexible low surface energy substrates. A primer is applied to the surface of the low surface energy substrate using a spray coating system. A pressure pot spray system that oscillates as the substrate passes underneath it on a conveyor system may be used. The primer is then allowed to air dry. Once dry, a printer can be used to print a graphic, design or other ornamental feature on the primed surface of the substrate. Once printing is complete, a clear coating is applied to the substrate and then cured.

Abstract: Systems and methods for safely repairing potable water tanks when submerged within a tank. Several barriers are used to separate the coating material after application to the area of the tank needing repair from the potable water. The barrier may be shield structure defining a cavity and having an aperture and valve for injecting the coating material into the cavity, or the barrier may be a sheet preloaded with coating material and stored within and delivered via a transfer shield, or the barrier may be a continuous sheet delivered over the top of the coating material at the same time it is applied. The barrier layer, be it a shield structure sheet or continuous sheet, becomes adhered to the substrate being repaired so post cure removal is not required.

Abstract: A substrate processing apparatus according to the present disclosure includes a holding unit, a nozzle, a driving unit, and a controller. The holding unit holds a substrate. The nozzle supplies a processing liquid to the substrate held on the holding unit. The driving unit moves the nozzle. The controller controls the driving unit, so as to move the nozzle while supplying the processing liquid to the substrate from the nozzle. Further, the controller controls the driving unit based on recipe information including step information including positions of first and second points above the substrate, total time for moving the nozzle between the first and second points, and a moving speed of the nozzle, so as to cause reciprocation of the nozzle.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for producing a coated analytic substrate using a compact and portable automated instrument located in the laboratory setting at the point of use which can consistently produce one or a plurality of coated analytic substrates “on demand” for using the analytic substrate immediately after coating, preferably without a step of rinsing the coated analytic substrate before use. The apparatus preferably uses applicator cartridges having a reservoir containing the coating compositions used to form the coatings. Preferably the cartridges are removable and interchangeable to facilitate the production of individual analytic substrates having different coatings or different coating patterns. These coated analytic substrates have superior specimen adhesion characteristics due to the improved quality of the coatings applied by the coating apparatus and due to the quickness with which the coated analytic substrates can be used in the lab after production.

Abstract: A method and system for on-site aerial dissemination of oxidatively converted particles with substantial atmospheric disposal of the water component of all regulated and defined leachates and regulated and defined wastewaters. These leachates and wastewaters (defined as water containing 2 or more detectable regulated, defined and known contaminants) may include collecting the leachate or wastewater, having multiple contaminating suspended and perhaps precipitated solids therein, and aerially disseminating and disposing of said leachate or wastewater on the site of its generation. The defined leachate or wastewater is directed to an “Integrated Mobile Aerosolization System (IMAS)” having a turbine and being fully integrated and mobile. Thereafter, the mixture is directed from the IMAS and the contaminants aerially disseminated and disposed of over a defined and designated area on the site where the defined leachate or wastewater is created.

Abstract: Provided herein include methods and compositions pertaining to coatings, such as paints, for covering a substrate. In some aspects and embodiments the coatings may include a heat reflective metal oxide pigment that, applied to an external surface of a building (or is applied on a substrate used for an external surface of a building such as an architectural metal panel, EIFS, as a stucco top coat or as a top coat for roofing tiles) reduces the energy consumption in the building. In other aspects and embodiments, provided are textured coatings having a texturing material; for example, methods and compositions are provided pertaining to textured coatings that can be applied robotically or in an automated fashion. In various aspects and embodiments, textured coatings are provided that include a texturing material and a heat reflective metal oxide pigment. In some aspects and embodiments heat reflective coatings for concrete or clay tiles and methods of applying such are provided.
