Abstract: PURPOSE: A variable valve lift apparatus is provided to prevent the abrasion of a spring and retainer when a latching pin moves in an axial direction. CONSTITUTION: A variable valve lift apparatus comprises an outer tappet body(10), an inner tappet body(20), a latching unit(30), a spring plate(50), a lost motion spring(60), and a valve(70). The outer and inner tappet bodies comprise outer and inner tappet body guide holes. The inner tappet body is slid in the outer tappet body. The latching unit is installed inside the inner tappet guide hole, and selectively inserted into the outer tappet guide hole. The spring plate is coupled to the inner tappet body. The lost motion spring is installed between the spring plate and the outer tappet body, and elastically supports the outer tappet body. The valve is coupled to the inner tappet body.

Abstract: PURPOSE: An oil control valve is provided to simplify the constitution of an oil circuit since a relief valve is installed. CONSTITUTION: An oil control valve comprises a body(1), a spool(3), three ports, two spool paths(5) and a relief valve(7). This valve further comprises a spool driving unit(9). The body comprises a space with a given shape of cross section. The spool is formed to linearly slide to the space of the body. The three ports are formed by penetrating the body in the sliding direction of the spool. The two spool paths are formed so that a common port is communicated with the other two ports. The relief valve permits oil to flow in one direction if one of the two spool paths is greater than a given pressure. The spool driving unit supplies power for sliding the spool to the body.

CONSTITUTION: A continuously variable valve lift device for an engine comprises an eccentric cam shaft, a rocker arm, and an adjusting unit(40).
