Abstract:
Disclosed are a system and a method to supply battery power for a high voltage battery. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the system to supply battery power for a high voltage battery comprises: a charger to convert external alternating current power to direct current power for a charge, and charge a high voltage battery of an eco-friendly vehicle; a charge control unit to receive power to control a charge of the high voltage battery to control drive of the charger; an auxiliary battery to supply first voltage direct current power to drive the charge control unit; and a power supply unit to generate second voltage direct current power greater than the first voltage direct current power using the external alternating current power and supply the generated second voltage direct current power as driving power to control the charge of the charge control unit. A first diode and a second diode are respectively installed in an output terminal of the power supply unit and an output terminal of the auxiliary battery, wherein a cathode voltage of the second diode is raised and the first voltage direct current power of the auxiliary battery is blocked due to diode properties when the second voltage direct current power is supplied by the power supply unit.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to an electric charging device and, more specifically, to a method for controlling charges of a plug-in hybrid vehicle and an electric vehicle. The device and the method of the present invention are capable of efficiently charging the plug-in hybrid vehicle and the electric vehicle by improving an operation of a control unit in a standby state. The method for controlling charges of a plug-in hybrid vehicle and an electric vehicle according to an embodiment of the present invention includes the steps of: connecting a charging cable; checking whether a CP signal is received from an EVSE; initiating an operation of a controller; determining whether an approval signal is received from the EVSE; determining whether AC power is supplied from the EVSE; and initiating a charge, wherein the operation of the controller is finished if the predetermined time (t1) is elapsed without receiving the approval signal in the step of determining an approval, or if the predetermined time (t2) is elapsed without supplying the AC power in the step of determining the AC power supply.
