Abstract:
Methods, processes, compositions and systems for preventing leaching effects from water pipes (such as lead, steel and copper) having an inner diameter of at least approximately 12 mm. 2-part thermoset resin coating is applied to the inner surfaces of the pipes where the curing agent can be a phenol free and plasticizer free adduct type. The coating can reduce heavy metals, such as lead, from leaching from installed pipes to less than approximately 10 μg/L (10 ppb). When cured, specific leachates, Bisphenol A and Epichlorohydrin from the coatings will be (less than)
Abstract:
Various embodiments of the present disclosure pertain to methods of making carbon nanotube-coated substrates by dissolving carbon nanotubes in a solvent to form a carbon nanotube solution; and coating a surface of a substrate with the carbon nanotube solution to form one or more carbon nanotube layers on the surface of the substrate. The carbon nanotube solution may include a superacid solvent. A cable made out of the carbon nanotube-coated substrates may include one or more internal insulating layers that surround the surface of one or more internal conductors. Carbon nanotube solutions may be coated onto the one or more internal insulating layers to form one or more carbon nanotube layers. Additional embodiments of the present disclosure pertain to carbon nanotube-coated substrates formed by the methods of the present disclosure. The carbon nanotube-coated substrates may include one or more carbon nanotube layers derived from a carbon nanotube solution.

Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing a film for an optoelectronic element and, more specifically, to a method for manufacturing a film for an optoelectronic element, which can improve the optical characteristics of an optoelectronic element and can be applied to even flexible optoelectronic elements. To this end, the present invention provides the method for manufacturing a film for an optoelectronic element, comprising: a bubble generation step for generating a large quantity of bubbles inside a polymer resin by stirring the polymer resin; a bubble density control step for controlling the density of the bubbles inside the polymer resin by exposing, to vacuum, the polymer resin in which bubbles are generated; and a coating film formation step for forming a coating film having a plurality of pores dispersed therein by coating and drying the polymer resin on a substrate.
Abstract:
Methods and systems for cleaning, coating and sealing leaks in existing pipes, in a single operation. A piping system can be cleaned in one pass by dry particulates forced and pulled by air throughout the piping system by a generator and a vacuum. Pipes can be protected from water corrosion, erosion and electrolysis, extending the life of pipes such as copper, steel, lead, brass, cast iron piping and composite materials. Coatings can be applied to pipes having diameters up to approximately 6″. Leak sealants of at least approximately 4 mils thick can cover insides of pipes, and can include novel mixtures of fillers and epoxy materials, and viscosity levels. A positive pressure can be maintained within the pipes during applications. Piping systems can be returned to service within approximately 96 hours.
Abstract:
A machine and a process for spraying a section of pipeline with air and water, the machine having an enclosure configured to surround a section of pipeline; a frame rotatable about a section of pipeline in the enclosure; rotating means operable to rotate the frame; a water delivery arrangement mounted on the frame and rotatable therewith to spray water around a section of pipeline in the enclosure; and an air delivery arrangement mounted on the frame and rotatable therewith to spray air around a section of pipeline in the enclosure. The machine may be used quenching or jet washing a section of pipeline. Optionally, the machine may comprise a heater arrangement mounted on the frame and rotatable therewith to help dry a section of pipeline after it has been jet washed.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a membrane including a partition layer, wherein the partition layer contains at least 50 wt % of PVC, and a barrier layer. The barrier layer can be a barrier layer, wherein the barrier layer has a polyamide layer containing more than 50 wt % of copolymer, wherein said polyamide layer is connected to the partition layer by a polyurethane layer, wherein the polyurethane layer contains more than 10 wt % of polyurethane. Alternatively, the barrier layer can be a barrier layer, wherein the barrier layer is made of a composition containing 5-50 wt % of polyurethane and 50-95 wt % of copolymer. The membranes according to the invention have significantly lower plasticizer migration compared to the membranes of the prior art and are characterized by improved aging resistance, in particular with regard to the adhesion of the barrier layer to the partition layer, and impermeability to moisture.
