    Abstract: The present invention relates to a thermoplastic coating composition comprising at least one polyamide and at least one surface modifying agent, wherein the polyamide comprises a reaction product of: a) at least one dimerized fatty acid; b) at least one mono carboxylic acid; c) at least one linear dicarboxylic acid; and d) at least one linear diamine; wherein the surface modifying agent is selected from slip agents, anti-blocking agents or combinations thereof; wherein the surface modifying agent is contained in 0.1 to 10 wt-%, based on the total weight of the thermoplastic coating composition; and wherein the composition preferably has a coefficient of friction (COF) of 0.2 to 1.1 which is measured according to ASTM D 1894.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to a pigmented aqueous basecoat material comprising a reaction product which is preparable by reaction of (a) at least one compound of the formula (I) X1—Y—X2  (I) in which X1, X2 independently of one another, are each a functional group which is reactive toward epoxide groups, or hydrogen, with, however, at least one of the two groups X1 and X2 being a functional group which is reactive toward epoxide groups, and Y is a divalent aliphatic, aromatic or araliphatic hydrocarbon radical having a number-average molecular weight of 100 to 2500 g/mol, with (b) at least one compound of the general structural formula (II) in which R is a C3 to C6 alkylene radical and n is selected accordingly such that the compound (b) possesses an epoxide equivalent weight of 100 to 2000 g/mol, where components (a) and (b) are used in the reaction in a molar ratio of 2.3/0.7 to 1.7/1.6 and the resulting reaction product possesses a number-average molecular weight of 500 to 15 000 g/mol and an acid number of less than 10 mg KOH/g and also a hydroxyl number of 25 to 250 mg KOH/g.
