This patent specification relates to methods and systems that can detect over cycling conditions that exist in an HVAC system. The over cycling condition can be caused by overheating of a forced air heating system or furnace of the HVAC system control. When the furnace overheats, a thermally actuated limit switch within the furnace may cut off power to a heat generation apparatus. The limit switch can reconnect the power to the heat generation apparatus after it has cooled down, at which point the thermostat control system may issue another heating call to continue heating the enclosure so that it reaches the desired temperature. If the overheat condition persist, then the thermally actuated switch will cut power, resulting in repeated power cycling. The detection system and methods can monitor these power loss events and use them as data points for determining whether an alert condition exists within the HVAC system.

The present invention provides an abnormality diagnosis device and an abnormality diagnosis method for a supercharger. In the abnormality diagnosis processing performed by an electronic control unit, a determination of having an abnormality of a turbo charger is made according to the fact that an actual supercharging pressure becomes equal to above the upper-limit supercharging pressure for preventing the over-speed rotation of the turbo charger. The throttle opening is reduced while the output torque of the internal combustion engine is decreased; on the other hand, the actual supercharging pressure is to be decreased by decreasing the rotation speed of the turbo charger. The electronic control unit prohibits the execution of the abnormality determination processing during the reduction of the throttle opening. Thus, a case of making a wrong determination of having the abnormality of the turbo charger through the abnormality diagnosis processing due to the temporary rising of the actual supercharging pressure is suppressed.

A light is disposed on a blade of a nail clipper and covered by a light housing. The housing is dimensioned and configured to the cutting edge of the blade of the nail clipper. The housing clears the cutting edge of the blade so as not to obstruct the cutting action of the blades in the clipper. Light emitted from the light housing is focused on a pet's nail intended to be cut due, in part, to the fact that the housing corresponds in shape to the cutting edge of the blade. The housing may be made of light diffusing material that also allows light to illuminate a pet's nail. The illuminated nail clipper allows a user to cut a pet's nail regardless of the position or angle of the nail and protects the users eyes from the direct exposure to the lighting source in the light housing.
