Abstract: A variable valve lift apparatus may include a variable valve lift housing, a master piston which is slidably disposed in the variable valve lift housing and contacts a cam, a slave piston which is slidably disposed in the variable valve lift housing, defines an oil chamber with the master piston therebetween, and opens a valve connected to the slave piston according to reciprocative motion of the master piston, and a lift control portion which supplies oil to the oil chamber or exhausts oil in the oil chamber selectively to control a relative distance between the master piston and the slave piston.

Abstract: PURPOSE: An electric-hydraulic VVL(variable valve lift) device is provided to prevent shock and vibration due to opening/closing of a valve since a second shock reducing oil path is opened/closed by a guide protrusion. CONSTITUTION: An electric-hydraulic VVL device comprises a valve unit housing(10), a main piston(20), a main spring(30), a slave piston(40), and a main oil supply unit(50). A guide protrusion unit(15) is formed in the valve unit housing. The main piston is installed in the valve unit housing. The main piston forms an oil chamber(25) with the valve unit housing. The main spring is installed in the oil chamber. The main spring elastically supports the main piston. The slave piston is guided along the guide protrusion unit in the valve unit housing. The slave piston reciprocates according to the reciprocating movement of the main piston to open/close a valve. The main oil supply unit supplies fluid pressure to the oil chamber.

Abstract: PURPOSE: An exhaust gas recirculation apparatus is provided to maintain the temperature of engine oil by heat-exchanging exhaust gas with oil when an engine is initially started. CONSTITUTION: An exhaust gas recirculation apparatus(100) comprises a central pipe, a bypass pipe(130), a bypass valve, and a heat exchanging unit(150). Exhaust gas, exhausted from each cylinder of an engine, flows in the central pipe. The bypass pipe is connected to the bottom of the central pipe. The bypass valve is installed inside the bypass pipe. The heat exchanging unit is selectively branched from the bypass pipe by the bypass valve.

Abstract: PURPOSE: A variable oil pump is provided to prevent overloads on an engine by decreasing oil pressure, and expanding an oil discharge space into the space of first and second pressure chamber. CONSTITUTION: A variable oil pump comprises a housing(5), a pressure chamber(20), and a variable spring(10). The pressure chamber discharges oil flowing into an outer ring, which encloses a rotary vane(3) with a rotary shaft. The pressure chamber comprises a first chamber(21), a second chamber(22), and a pressure interlock body(30). The first chamber is formed in between the outer ring. The second chamber is formed near a connection rigng, and connected to an oil supply path(23), which is formed along the housing. The pressure interlock body connects or secludes the oil supply path according to the location of the connection ring. The variable spring is extended toward the connection ring according to engine RPM.

Abstract: PURPOSE: A cooling device for an internal combustion engine and an insert for a water jacket are provided to improve cooling efficiency of the internal combustion engine by enhancing the flow of cooling water in the siamese portion of a cylinder block. CONSTITUTION: An insert for a water jacket comprises two wing parts of triangular shape and a connection part which connects the two wing parts symmetrically. Each wing part is bent in an arc shape identical to the lower shape of the water jacket(3). The water jack is formed in a siamese portion between cylinder bores of a cylinder block(2), surrounding a cylinder of the cylinder block. The insert is inserted to the lower part of the water jacket to enhance the flow of cooling water in the upper part of the water jacket.
