Abstract: The present invention relates to a variable cycle engine comprising: a first cylinder performing an intake stroke, a compression stroke, a power stroke, and an exhaust stroke; a second cylinder performing the intake stroke, the compression stroke, the power stroke, and the exhaust stroke; a connection rail formed to be adjacent to the first and the second cylinder; a first variable port branching off from one side of the connection rail, and connected to the first cylinder; a second variable port branching off from the other side of the connection rail, and connected to the second cylinder; and variable control valves installed at the first variable port and the second variable port, opening and closing a line, and directly connecting the first cylinder and the second cylinder. In addition, the part of exhaust gas generated in the exhaust stroke is directly supplied to the adjacent cylinder performing the intake stroke, thereby realizing an EGR system.
