Abstract:
The present invention concerns a process for continuously coating a cellulose-based fibrous substrate web with fatty acid chloride, comprising the steps of a) pre-drying a cellulose-based fibrous substrate web to an EN ISO 638:2008 dry matter content of less than 10%; b) coating the cellulose-based fibrous substrate web pre-dried in step a) with a liquid fatty acid chloride composition at a DIN EN 20187 relative humidity of less than 20 rH and a temperature below the boiling temperature of the liquid fatty acid chloride composition; c) thermally treating the coated cellulose-based fibrous substrate web obtained from step b).
Abstract:
A method for painting a component, in particular for painting a motor vehicle body component, with a decorative layer is provided. The decorative layer may be a decorative strip, a graphic element, a contrast surface or a pattern. The method includes applying a base coat layer, applying a decorative layer, which is within a decorative region with a limited surface area, to the component, and drying a limited drying region of the component, which drying region comprises at least part of the decorative region.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a waterproof tape having improved adhesion which comprises a filler layer having formed on one side of a base film to exhibit excellent viscosity while being thin and has excellent shock resistance and an excellent waterproof property, and a manufacturing method.
Abstract:
A water-based bonding primer composition and a method of applying the same onto a metallic surface prior to adhesive bonding. The bonding primer composition is a water-based dispersion containing water, one or more epoxy resins, one or more curing agents, a silane compound, a low amount of propylene carbonate (PC), and optional additives. The bonding primer composition can form substantially smooth films by spraying, and at the same time, meet environmental regulations and provide high bonding performance.
Abstract:
Methods and systems for cleaning, coating and sealing leaks in existing pipes, in a single operation. A piping system can be cleaned in one pass by dry particulates forced and pulled by air throughout the piping system by a generator and a vacuum. Pipes can be protected from water corrosion, erosion and electrolysis, extending the life of pipes such as copper, steel, lead, brass, cast iron piping and composite materials. Coatings can be applied to pipes having diameters up to approximately 6″. Leak sealants of at least approximately 4 mils thick can cover insides of pipes, and can include novel mixtures of fillers and epoxy materials, and viscosity levels. A positive pressure can be maintained within the pipes during applications. Piping systems can be returned to service within approximately 96 hours.
Abstract:
A method for providing a matrix material between a bonded pair of substrates with a homogeneous distribution of anisotropic filler particles is provided. Functionalized anisotropic filler particles are mixed uniformly with a matrix material to form a homogenous mixture. A bonded assembly of a first substrate and a second substrate with an array of electrical interconnect structures is placed within a vacuum environment. The homogenous mixture of the matrix material and the anisotropic filler particles is dispensed around the array of electrical interconnect structures. A gas is abruptly introduced into the vacuum environment to induce an implosion of the homogenous mixture. The implosion causes the homogenous mixture to fill the cavity between the first and second substrates without causing agglomeration of the anisotropic filler particles. The mixture filling the space between the first and second substrates has a homogenous distribution of the anisotropic filler particles.
Abstract:
The application discloses a method for applying a fouling-release coating system to a surface, said surface suitably provided with an anticorrosive coat, and an article comprising a substrate, said substrate having a surface, preferably an anticorrosive coat on at least a part of the surface of said substrate and a tie-coat on said substrate. A curing agent composition comprising an amino-silane adduct comprising a high molecular weight amine, HMWA, as well as a tie-coat comprising said curing agent composition are also provided.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a membrane comprising a bulkhead layer, wherein more than 50% by weight of the bulkhead layer is composed of PVC, and a barrier layer. The barrier layer can, on the one hand, be a barrier layer S1, wherein the barrier layer S1 has a polyvinyl alcohol layer comprising more than 50% by weight of copolymer PA, which is connected to the bulkhead layer by a polyurethane layer, wherein more than 10% by weight of the polyurethane layer is composed of polyurethane PUR. The barrier layer can, on the other hand, be a barrier layer S2, wherein the barrier layer S2 has a composition comprising 5-50% by weight of polyurethane PUR and 50-95% by weight of copolymer PA. The membranes according to the invention have significantly lower plasticizer migration compared to the membranes of the prior art and are distinguished by improved resistance to aging, particularly as regards the adherence of the barrier layer on the bulkhead layer, and imperviousness to damp.
