In a gas sensor, when an arithmetical mean roughness Ra of an inner periphery of a metal tube 95 is 1 μm or less and end portions 93 and 94 of U-springs 92 are formed as curved contact portions, the end portions 93 and 94 of the U-springs 92 can slide smoothly along the inner periphery of the metal tube 95. Therefore, when vibration is applied to the gas sensor, the U-springs 92 can be prevented from being caught in the inner periphery of the metal tube 95, and the vibration can be absorbed by an elastic function of the U-springs 92. Even if the gas sensor vibrates, defective contact between a sensor element 20 and contact fittings 71 and wear and cracks in the sensor element 20 are less likely to occur. That is, the gas sensor resistant to vibration can be obtained.

In some examples, one or more components or one or more contacts may be used to block the improper insertion of a second electronic device or connection to a second electronic device. In other examples, one or more contacts may avoid damage by being located outside of an insertion path until a second electronic device or connection to a second electronic device is inserted. In other examples, instead of blocking or avoiding an improper insertion, the contacts may avoid damage by bending out of the way.

Disclosed is a computer-implemented planning process that aids a system administrator in the task of creating a job schedule. The process treats enterprise computing resources as a grid of resources, which provides greater flexibility in assigning resources to jobs. During the planning process, an administrator or other user, or software, builds a job-dependency tree. Jobs are then ranked according to priority, pickiness, and network centricity. Difficult and problematic jobs then are assigned resources and scheduled first, with less difficult jobs assigned resources and scheduled afterwards. The resources assigned to the most problematic jobs then are changed iteratively to determine if the plan improves. This iterative approach not only increases the efficiency of the original job schedule, but also allows the planning process to react and adapt to new, ad-hoc jobs, as well as unexpected interruptions in resource availability.

When a maximum value of vibration intensity (maximum vibration intensity)(Vmax) acquired from a vibration sensor (33) in a low engine speed/high engine load (operating region (R)) is equal to or greater than a given threshold value (X), a spark timing of a spark plug (16) is shifted from a point set in a normal state on a retard side with respect to a compression top dead center, farther toward the retard side. The teachings presented herein allow the same sequence of local oscillator waveform sample values to be used for driving two harmonic rejection mixers for which quadrature operation is desired, irrespective of whether the oversampling rate of the sequence is divisible by four or only divisible by two. Several advantages attend the contemplated circuit arrangement and method of operation. Example advantages include the improved matching that comes from operating both mixers with the identical waveform sample values, and the improved flexibility in optimizing the harmonic rejection and/or interference-related operation of the mixers over a broader range of frequencies of interest, which flows from having a larger set of usable OSRs.

A position of the access point base station is then assessed based on the performance parameter, and an assessment of the location is subsequently communicated.
In a data communication system which reduces traffic on a wireless network by reducing Ack responses, on a transmitting side, an Ack request provided within a wireless data frame is validated (turned “ON”) to be transmitted; and an Ack request cycle is extended when an Ack in response to the Ack request has been received within a fixed time (timeout period “To”) during a cycle for transmitting the Ack request while if otherwise, the cycle is shortened. On a receiving side, only in case that a frame identifier indicating a sequence of an Ack request is found to be an expected one and the present Ack request receiving interval is found to be longer than the last Ack request receiving interval, a redundant transmission frequency of the Ack in response to the Ack request is decreased while the Ack request receiving interval is updated to the present interval in either case.
A path control system according to the present invention includes a network including a communication device (202) that communicates via a radio link that uses adaptive modulation, and a path control device (201) predicting a future modulation mode for the radio link and setting a communication path for the network based on a predicted mode that is the predicted modulation mode.
A network device includes a port, a buffer, a flow control module, and a service differentiation module. The port is configured to send and receive a packet, wherein the port is connected to a network entity. The buffer is configured to store the packet. The flow control module is configured to control the transmission of the packet within the network device. The service differentiation module is coupled with the buffer and the flow control module. The service differentiation module is configured to regulate storage of the packet in the buffer and to regulate the transmission of the packet from the network device to the network entity. The service differentiation module is also configured to determine excess bandwidth available within the network device and to allocate the excess bandwidth to transmit the packet to the network entity.
A wireless communication system of the present invention includes: terminals; a base station that performs wireless communication with the terminals; a gateway apparatus that manages the terminals and the base station; and a server apparatus that authenticates the terminals. The gateway apparatus includes: at least one C-plane processor that processes C-plane; and N U-plane processors that process U plane. Each of the N U-plane processors notifies the C-plane processor of its own load status. The server apparatus notifies the C-plane processor of service levels of target terminals that try to perform entry to a network in which the base station and the gateway apparatus are located. The C-plane processor allocates, based on the load status of each of the N U-plane processors and the service levels of the target terminals, one of the N U-plane processors as an entry destination to the target terminals.
Systems and methods are disclosed for reusing resources of a wireless network. Radio communications resources of the wireless network are divided into partitions. A system described herein allows access to resources in the first partition by a first set of users for primary communications on the first partition, and allows access to resources in the first partition by a second set of users for secondary communications on the first partition. The control system also allows access to resources in the second partition by the second set of users for primary communications on the second partition, and allows access to resources in the second partition by the first set of users for secondary communications on the second partition.
Systems and methods for orthogonal frequency division multiplexing are provided. In one embodiment, a multi-carrier modem comprises: a receiver configured to de-modulate symbols from at least one of a plurality of spectrally overlapping carrier signals to produce a receiver output; a transmitter configured to modulate symbols onto at least one of a plurality of the spectrally overlapping carrier signals; a processor coupled to the transmitter, wherein the processor outputs data for transmission by the transmitter, wherein the processor applies an inverse Fourier transform to the data transmitted by the transmitter; the processor coupled to the receiver, wherein the processor applies a Fourier transform to the receiver output; and a controller programmed to instruct the transmitter to transmit at least one symbol representing a request for bandwidth allocation on a first carrier; wherein the controller is further programmed to determine when a collision has occurred on the first carrier.
An information erasing device includes a recording section where recording is performed with regard to a disk-shaped recording medium, and a control section which controls the recording section so that the recording section overwrites a part of a erasing target sector so as not to overlap in a radius direction of the disk-shaped recording medium.
A method of identifying and tracking a target is described, in which seismic data relating to a target is passively detected and processed using statistical means. The statistical manipulation of the data includes frequency information extraction, dynamical mixture model construction based on existing known data and identification of an unknown target by the convergence of this model to a state characteristic of that target.
