A 3D imaging system uses a depth sensor to produce a coarse depth map, and then uses the coarse depth map as a constraint in order to correct ambiguous surface normals computed from polarization cues. The imaging system outputs an enhanced depth map that has a greater depth resolution than the coarse depth map. The enhanced depth map is also much more accurate than could be obtained from the depth sensor alone. In many cases, the imaging system extracts the polarization cues from three polarized images. Thus, in many implementations, the system takes only three extra images—in addition to data used to generate the coarse depth map—in order to dramatically enhance the coarse depth map.

When an input torque becomes greater by a predetermined value or more due to an operation of increasing an amount of accelerator depression amount or the like during a gear shift, a controller for an automatic transmission updates a target gear shift characteristic value to a target gear shift characteristic value which is set when the gear shift is started with the input torque based on the input torque at the updating time, and performs gear shift control from a degree of progress in gear shift at the updating time based on the updated target gear shift characteristic value. Since the target gear shift characteristic value can be changed with respect to an increase in the input torque during the gear shift by this control, it is possible to prevent a decrease in durability of frictional engagement elements.

Methods that may be employed to help to equalize the length of the teeth on a pin-and-box SCR connector during make-up include locating the make-up groove on the box at the far box end away from the pipe end. This causes the make-up force to tension and stretch the box to make it longer. Additionally or alternatively placing grease or other fluid in the nib groove creates a resistance force to nib entry. The grease or fluid exits through a nib vent port in the box while creating a resistance that compresses the pin and stretches the box causing the tooth spacing of the pin and the box to be similar. Providing a ring groove at both ends of the box allows a tensioning device to be used to tension the box causing box elongation, which equalizes the tooth length of pin and box members during connector make up.

An automatic cable spooling device is provided, comprising a frame adapted to rotatably hold a spooling drum; a drum motor operatively connected to the drum; and a levelwind arm positioned adjacent to the drum. The levelwind arm is movable in a plane aligned with the rotational axis of the drum. The system further includes an arm motor operatively connected to the levelwind arm; and a microcontroller in communication with the arm motor. An arm encoder is adapted to sense a position of the arm motor and is in communication with the microcontroller. Likewise, a drum encoder is adapted to sense a position of the drum motor and is also in communication with the microcontroller. The position of the levelwind arm is controlled by the microcontroller based on the position of the drum, the spooling width, and a predetermined cable diameter.

A helical conveyor comprises a belt having a transport section for transporting products where the belt follows at least partly a helical path between a lower end and an upper end of the transport section and a return section where the belt follows a path. The conveyor comprises a lower end reverse guide for turning the belt upside down and reversing its direction of movement between the transport section and the return section at the lower end of the transport section and an upper end reverse guide for turning the belt upside down and reverting its direction of movement between the transport section and the return section at the upper end of the transport section. The return section leaves the upper end through a horizontally oriented upper return section portion and the return section leaves the lower end through a horizontally oriented lower return section portion.

A plurality of stacked, interconnected wipes that collectively define a stack. Each wipe is connected to at least one other wipe on only one of the right side and the left side of the stack via a connection. In particular embodiments, immediately successive connections in a stacked direction are on alternating right and left sides of the stack. In other embodiments, immediately successive connections in a stacked direction are on the same side of the stack.

A container (1) with separate sealed compartments for different substances. The container (1) comprises separate and relatively sealed first (A), second (B) and third (C) compartments. The first compartment (A) receives a first substance (such as colorant); the second compartment (B) receives a second substance (such as a developing solution); and the third compartment (C) defines a mixing volume for receiving the first and second substances from the first and second compartments. A rupturable portion adjoins the third compartment (C) and separates the first and second compartments (A, B), from the third compartment so that in use, when the a rupturable portion is ruptured substances from the first and second compartments (A, B) can pass to the third compartment (C). A passage (16) is provided in a wall of the third compartment (C) along an edge not shared with either of the first or second compartments. The passage (16) leads to a first opening that is opened by a first opening means (6) which when opened, permits controlled release of a user defined amount of the first and/or second substances; and the third compartment (C) has a second opening with a second opening means (66) which enables at least one of the sheets to be opened in order to access the third compartment (C) and remove first and/or second substances therefrom.
