Embodiments relate to stress compensation in differential sensors. In an embodiment, instead of compensating for stress on each sensor element independently, stress compensation circuitry aims to remove stress-related mismatch between two sensor elements using the sensor elements themselves to detect the mismatch. A circuit can be implemented in embodiments to detect mechanical stress-related mismatch between sensor elements using the sensor elements, and tune the output signal by a compensation factor to eliminate the mismatch. Embodiments are therefore less complicated and less expensive than conventional approaches. While embodiments have applicability to virtually any differential sensor, including magnetic field, pressure, temperature, current and speed, an example embodiment discussed herein relates to magnetic field.

This invention concerns a device for the transmission of impulse and momentum, e.g. from a shock wave from an explosion or momentum from objects impacting the device, from one location to another, and is primarily used to protect vehicles, ships, aircrafts and buildings against impulse and/or momentum, for instance in regards to attacks on those with grenades, bombs, mines and the like. The governing physical principles are those of conservation of momentum and energy, and Newton's 3rd Law, claiming that for every action there is an equal but opposite reaction. When the receiver 1 is accelerated by the incoming shock wave 9 it collides with the transmitter 2, connected to an emitter 3, momentum is transferred to the emitter 3. If the transfer is in itself not sufficient to bring the receiver's 1 velocity to an acceptable level, additional energy and momentum is added through the transmitter 2.

A cycle or bicycle is driven both by rotation of pedals that drive a rear wheel in a conventional manner, and by fore and aft movement of the handlebars. Fore and aft movement of the handlebars about an adjustable hinge, which also rotate as a unit about a front wheel turning axis, is transmitted to a drive rod. The drive rod then drives an actuator mechanism which transfers force due to movement of the handlebars to the primary drive mechanism through which pedal power is also applied to the rear wheel. Forces generated by this movement of the handlebars is additive to forces applied by the rider directly to the pedals, in a coordinated manner that does not inhibit steering of the bicycle.
