Cyclones for gas-solid separators are described, which are especially applicable for use in a downflowing third stage separator (TSS) for the removal of dust particles, such as solid catalyst fines, from the flue gas streams exiting the catalyst regenerator in fluid catalytic cracking (FCC) processes. A number of important flow characteristics result from the configuration of the cyclones, particularly with respect to the relative axial lengths over which swirl vanes and central hubs of the cyclones extend. These characteristics include a decrease in growth of turbulent eddies that conventionally result from a sudden expansion, in open cross-sectional area, of gas exiting swirl vanes.

The stent of this invention is a self-expanding stent created by a scaffolding lattice. The stent may be made from a nickel-titanium alloy. The lattice is formed from two different types of helices that proceed circumferentially in opposite directions along the longitudinal axis of the stent. The helices have no free ends. The first type of helix is formed by a series of undulations and the second type of helix is formed from a series of connection elements. The undulations may be in a zigzag or sinusoidal pattern. The connection elements connect the junction points lying on adjacent turns of the first type of helix. The junction points are formed by the ascending and descending arms of the undulations or zigzags. The ends of the stent may be formed by a closed circumferential element which is linked by connection elements to a transition zone. The transition zone is formed by a closed loop that connects directly to the first helix. The amplitude of the undulations or zigzags forming the transition zone increases from the closed loop to the point connecting the transition zone with the first type of helix. The closed circumferential element may be made from a radiopaque material. The scaffolding lattice design of the stent provides a stent having a high degree of flexibility as well as radial strength.

The present invention is a systematic displacement bone screw having minor and major thread diameters that are constant instead of tapered. The crests at the tip of the screw are narrower than the crests near the screw head resulting in a smaller distance between the thread flanks, which displaces and/or compresses more bone matter. Because the major diameter remains constant, the diameter of the hole made by inserting the screw is consistent over the length of the screw allowing the screw to be adjusted without loosening. The systematic displacement screw with varying crest thicknesses also avoids the need to use a larger diameter screw in place of a removed screw during a repair procedure. Rather than increasing the size of the hole, the systematic displacement screw can be used for the both the original screw and the replacement screw.

An oxidation and reduction fine particles generator includes an atomization electrode, a water feeder for supplying water to the atomization electrode and a high voltage generator, and also includes a switch device and a controller. The switch device changes an operation mode to an oxidation mode or a reduction mode. The controller generates negatively charged fine water particles including radicals through electrostatic atomization by applying a high voltage to water supplied to the atomization electrode in the oxidation mode. The controller also inactivates and activates the water feeder and the high voltage generator, respectively to generate reduction fine particles from the atomization electrode by dry discharge in the reduction mode.

A method and system is provided for permanently and visibly marking reusable packing crates with a unique mark and using the mark to identify and track the crate in a manufacturing environment. The mark can include a two-dimensional barcode comprised of holes drilled through one or more sidewalls of the crate to produce a unique and permanent pattern for identification. The code can be used to identify a crate uniquely and to assign waypoint data, process management data and content data that can be stored in a computer database. The data can be used for tracking information capabilities and business intelligence in and for manufacturing management systems.

The present invention provides a bulk bin having a greater column strength by being resistant to wall bulging. The bulk bin is formed mainly of multiple wall corrugated board with the corrugations in a first wall oriented vertically and the corrugations in a second wall oriented horizontally. The orthogonal orientation of the corrugations results in a greater wall stiffness and less wall bulging, maintaining the wall in linear vertical orientation and retaining maximum column strength.

A sock donning apparatus operable to assist an individual with restricted mobility to apply a sock to their foot. The sock donning apparatus further includes a body having a central panel that is generally tapered in shape. The central panel has integrally formed therewith a first side panel and a second side panel. The first side panel and second side panel are integrally formed on opposing sides of the central panel. The body is manufactured from a pliable material that facilitates the movable connection between the central panel and the first side panel and second side panel. A cavity is formed to accommodate a human foot therein with the moving of the first side panel and the second side panel into their second positions. A retention mechanism is secured to the first side panel and is operable to releasably secure a portion of a sock. A pulling member is secure to the body providing a user interface to grasp the sock donning apparatus and utilize to apply a sock.

In a combination of an intimate apparel hanger and an indicator for displaying garment-related information, the indicator is mounted to a lower neck region of the hanger where the hanger hook intersects the hanger body. The hanger has a flange, having a sloped surface and an undersurface. The indicator has a resilient tab disposed in a wall of the indicator body. The resilient tab is outwardly displaced by the sloped surface to expand the top opening of the indicator to allow the indicator to pass over the flange. The undersurface of the flange retains the indicator at the lower neck region after the indicator passes over the flange.
