A debris barrier snap fits to a tubular groove of one of the tubulars that define the annular gap in which the barrier is to be mounted. It is loosely mounted so that it can center itself in the annulus as the relatively moving members go out of a concentric arrangement. The continuous carbon fiber material used for the debris barrier has lubricious qualities to act as a bushing when the annulus shape changes due to movement of the tubulars out of a concentric relationship. An outer or inner groove on the barrier acts to trap and retain small particles that manage to advance between the barrier and the outer tubular. The snap fit is accomplished with flexible spaced apart fingers with grip surfaces to engage a groove on one of the tubulars.

A funnel having a collection area disposed at one end of the funnel. A base surface of the collection area is flat. A flange surrounding an inlet opening is positioned spaced from the collection area. When the funnel is placed in a vertical orientation with the base surface of the collection area contacting a horizontal surface, a lowermost edge of the flange surrounding the inlet opening is aligned with the base surface of the collection area. The funnel is thereby supported in a vertical orientation on the horizontal surface by two contact points. In this position, the residual fluid in the funnel is transferred by gravity to collect within the collection area. No residual fluid is allowed to escape from the interior of the funnel.

A compact and low-cost mixing faucet for liquids of different temperatures is proposed that allows fine and accurate adjustment of the volume and temperature of the mixed outflow by single-handed operation. The mixing faucet is suitable for use of a ceramic perforated plate and/or thermostatic mixing valve. The actuation quantities can be converted by torque converters to rotational control variables in an ergonomically optimum type, magnitude and/or positioning of movement, such that both rotational control variables can be selectively adjusted when manually operated by accessing from a permanent direction of access. The hand position enables actuation of the faucet with only two fingertips, with torque limitable up to any degree of smoothness and a large angle of rotation at the associated rotary actuator. The rotational control variable for the outflow volume can be made ergonomically easier to reach and adjust from the direction of access.

The present technology provides a mandibular repositioning device (MRD) which may be self titratable. The MRD may be repositioned relative to the maxilla, e.g., the mandible may be brought, via the device, to a position forward of a neutral resting and/or bite position. The MRD allows for adjusting the maintained forward position by simply biting-down to preserve the desired degree of mandibular advancement. The present technology also allows for movement of the mandible in a lateral direction. The lateral movement is allowed for any forward longitudinal positioning of the mandible. The MRD may use a plurality of components that are coupled together and allow for lateral and longitudinal motion between each other. The present technology may be used in MRDs which may be self-fitted, typically by immersing the device in hot water and then biting into the device, making an impression of the teeth in the softened thermoplastic polymer. It may also be applied to MRDs that do not require any fitting to the teeth and to devices that are custom-fabricated by dental labs.

An enhanced airway for creating an airway in a patient including a rigid connector with an insertion portion inserted into a flexible tube, and a padding member surrounding the flexible tube and the inserted portion of the rigid connector. The rigid connector includes a circuit end that may be directly coupled to an anesthesia circuit, reducing risk of fire caused by diffusing oxygen. The circuit end may also be covered by an oxygen mask or left open and uncoupled. The flexible tube enables a comfortable and less-injury prone creation of an airway in the patient's oral cavity. The rigid connector prevents a patient from biting down and collapsing the flexible tube and, if also inserted in the patient's airway, an endotracheal tube or a laryngeal mask airway. The padding member cushions the rigid connector, preventing damage and injury to a patient's teeth upon biting the rigid connector.
